WE arrived at a dark place. There were graves everywhere, some with flowers on them, some with moss, or some with both. In the distance we could see two glowing tombs with our names on them.

Luckily it was still night, so we had some time to get our bodies without getting burnt alive by sunlight.

Logan and I collected our bodies, and in a flash of light, we looked the same..but different. We had skin and clothes that weren't rags. It was the first time in ages we felt alive like this. For once I has a heart beating in my chest. This made me feel we made the right decision.

"They say you don't miss things until they're gone...that's so true." Logan said, hugging himself.

I laughed. "As much as we're here for the fun, remember we got a mission on our hands, 'kay?"

He nodded.

With that in mind, we picked up our bags and headed into the world. It looked so different since last I was here. In the night, the buildings gave off multi-coloured lights. There were these carriages on wheels and a little things at the top saying "taxi", though most of them didn't have the weird sign.  I could count at least 25 people carrying phones. Dogs weren't little demonic animals with little wings - they were the cutest things to ever walk on 4 legs. The ground wasn't a dirty mud track or plain cobble to walk on, there were smoothly paneled rocks, though slightly chipped away, and they didn't feel like pins jabbing into your foot. Everywhere you turn there was something new. A demon who didn't know this place could easily mistake it for heaven.

Logan and I continued walking in awe. We started randomly pointing at things and talking about them, while the people around us stared at us like we were weirdos. Our main job was to look normal and find the demon ambassador for earth, but everything was too different to keep to that shit.

Finally we managed to meet the demon ambassador in a small coffee shop. It was really bright in there, but I guessed that was something I needed to get used to. The people inside weren't tearing each other apart or eating each other alive..weird...

"Over here." a guy called out.

Logan and I walked toward him and sat in the chairs in front him. Judging by the way Logan started slouching and moaning told me these chairs were way more comfortable than the ones in hell.

"Logan and Moonshine?" he asked with a clear American accent.

We nodded.

"Good. In about 20 minutes a cab will come pick you two up. He will take you to where you will be staying. Here's a couple phones with each other's, and my numbers in them. We need to keep in touch just in case anything happens." he said, giving us two phones.

Luckily I knew how these things work; I had one just like it at home. Logan on the other hand never had a phone - not counting the one his family had at the bar since he was rarely allowed to use it - so he was gonna need some help.

"Want something to eat? They have everything here and setting up that portal must have you starving." the guy said.

"Yeah...thanks..." Logan started.

"James, the name's James."

James got up and went to the cashier without a gun or anything. He just politely asked for a couple cupcakes and the woman working there just got them for him!

James came back to us and put the cupcakes in front of us. "Surprising right?"

Logan and I just stared in awe. James just laughed.

"It's a lot to handle at first. I was just like you when I first got here-"

A car horn blared into our ears, interrupting James.

"That's your ride, call me when you get there to tell me what you think."

"Thanks for everything James." I said.

"No prob, demons always gotta look out for each other right?" he replied.

We laughed and took the cupcakes to the car.

Logan and I entered the back of the cab, which was what they called those weird carriages I first saw. We both slouched back in the comfortable cushions and let the car take us to the new place we we're going to stay.
