Kira's POV
I was sitting in a restaurant. I was eating chicken, accompanied by a soda.

Ever had those moments where you just had to get away from something and spend time to yourself? Yeah, that was me right now.

I was sitting alone, too, and I didn't wanna be bothered by anyone unless it was someone I knew.

I was just eating peacefully until someone took the seat next to me.

"Eating alone? Can I join?" He asked. I looked over at the person, only to see a familiar head of red, messy hair and blue eyes.

In other words, my ex-boyfriend, Daichi.

Now Daichi isn't bitter about our breakup or anything. We're still pretty good friends.

I guess he's also technically one of my best friends when I think about it.

"You just did." I said as I took another bite of my chicken.

"Did you see that attack on the news earlier? That was crazy, wasn't it?" Daichi asked.

"Sure was." I responded.

"It was you. It was you." My thoughts constantly swirled around in my mind, echoing, followed by me not wanting to believe any of it.

"What do you think it could've been?"

Daichi's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Huh? What?" I asked.

"I asked what you think could've killed Shelby. I think it was some crazed slasher. What about you?" Daichi asked.

"I didn't really think about it. Some animal had snuck into her house and she didn't notice, I guess." I said.

"So what kind of animal do you think could've killed her?"

"I don't know. A fox." I muttered as I took a sip of my soda.

"I see.....maybe it was an animal, but it sure was bizarre." Daichi said.

"Ain't that the truth." I said.

"You seem distant. Are you okay?" Daichi asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Daichi's face contorted into a look of confusion, or more like doubtful.

But then his expression changed again, no longer confused.

"Anyway, how's life been?"

"Good. You?"

"That's good and so is mine." He said.

I just nodded.

"You're not much for words tonight, Kira." Daichi said.

"I know." I said, sighing and finishing my meal.

I got up and began walking away, but he called out to me.

"Just lemme know if anything's wrong in your life and I'll try to help out." He said.

I just nodded.

"Thanks." I said as I walked away.

I got in the car and drove to our temporary home. Once I got there, the door flung open and Yuki was standing in the doorway.

"I found your pants on the beach shortly after you left. They were all ripped up. It was pretty close to the RV." He said.

"Really? Lemme see!" I said as I started walking up the small stairs to the RV. Yuki stepped to the side and I stood back in the RV.
