"So let me get this straight....you're a werewolf?" Neon asked.
I was sitting on Neon and Kori's bed in the master bedroom. I had told them everything and they were currently asking me questions.
And yes, I was wearing pants now. They were pants that Neon used to wear, but she let me have-and wear-them because they didn't fit her anymore, but they fit me just fine.
Which I'm sure was because they were just trying to understand everything.
I mean, if someone told you they were a werewolf, you'd have the same reaction, wouldn't you?
"Yeah, I am."
"And you're also responsible for those deaths?" Kori asked.
"Yes." I said.
Kori was working on something. I couldn't really tell what it was, but it was some kind of device. I couldn't really tell what it looked like from where I was on the bed so I figured I could check it out later.
"Can you control yourself when you're a wolf?" Neon asked.
"No, but....well....sometimes it's like I submerge through my wolf self." I said.
"Wait, what? What's that mean?" Kori asked.
"Sometimes I might emerge and notice the person I kill, but then my wolf instincts kick back in and I'm gone." I said.
"Oh....so....you only surface for a brief moment and then you're gone?" Kori asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"So I guess werewolves aren't cool after all..." Kori said as he turned back around in his chair.
"You got that right." I said.
I lowered my head.
"In all honesty, it stinks being a werewolf. The transformation is painful, I can't control what I do, and most importantly, I wake up the next morning with guilt about what I've done the night before. It's even worse when you see the damage I've done the night before." I said.
I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see it was Neon's hand.
"You'll get through this. This is you were talking about after all, Kira. You're the strongest person I know." She said.
I smiled sadly at her as she took her hand off my shoulder.
"Yeah. Thanks." I said.
The doorbell rang.
"I'll get it." Neon said as she got off the bed and exited the room.
I got off the bed as well and walked over to Kori.
"So whatcha makin'?"
"Just some thing I wanted to make." Kori said as he twisted a screwdriver into its side.
"And...done!" He said.
The device he made was a small, metallic circle. In the middle of it was a huge light blue button that seemed to glow due to the sun shining on it from the window next to Kori's desk.
"So what's it for?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing really. It's just a holographic device that can turn you into any animal you wanted to be." Kori said.
"Oh, really? That's cool." I said.
"Wait, Kira. Shush for a moment. The people Neon's talking to don't sound familiar." Kori said.
Kori and I shut our mouths and tried to listen to the conversation Neon was having downstairs with what sounded like two people.
"So yes, ma'am, that's that. We were wondering if we could search your house. A man with blue hair was seen walking in the streets with no pants on. We think he could be a prime suspect in the killings that have been happening recently." Someone downstairs explained.
