1 month later

Matt had been living at Mom's for the past couple of weeks. I didn't mind him at first but now I kind of hate his guts.

He's kind of a slob. He drinks a lot and  smokes weed with my mom. He's a horrible drunk. He throws things. And says hateful things. My mom lets him do it but then again, she's high half the time and doesn't give a flying fuck.

I was happy that it was my time to go to Dad's this week. I needed to get away from all the issues at my moms house. I never told dad or anyone except Hannah about how I was feeling. Dad knew about moms boyfriend but he thought I liked him. He thought he was an ok dude.

Mom dropped me off at the hospital since dad and Calum were both working. I made my way up to my dad's office. This place is literally like another home.

I knocked on the door and then walked in.

"Hey Baby." Dad said.

I made my way over to him and sat on his lap, putting my head in his shoulder.

"Hi."

"You feeling alright hunny?" He asked.

I nodded. He felt my forehead and then kissed it.

"I just got to check on a few more patients today and then I'll be ready to go."

I nodded.

"Are you ok hanging out by yourself or do you wanna go see one of the guys? Michael's on his lunch break."

"I'll go hang with Michael."

Dad nodded. I followed him out the door and down to where Michael's office was. I sat down in one of the beanbag chairs he had and dad left to go see more patients.

"What's up with you sugar?" Michael asked.

I shrugged. "I don't know. Nothing much."

"Is there something bothering you?"

"Kind of."

Michael came and sat down next to me in another beanbag chair. "Talk to me. What's going on?"

"I don't really like my mom's boyfriend." I said, playing with my fingers.

"Why's that?"

"She's just changed. I miss the old times. I miss dad, her and I together." My eyes started to fill with tears and started to stream down my face.

Michael frowned and moved closer so that he could wrap an arm around me. I put my head in his chest and kept crying. He just rubbed my back and said soothing things to calm me down.

We stayed like this for awhile until I calmed down. Michael had wiped away my tears and was there as comfort.

"When's my dad gonna be done?" I asked. My voice sounded bad due to the crying.

"I'm not sure sweetie, do you want me to page him?"

I nodded and rested my head on Michael's shoulder.

Dad soon came in and was rushing over to me.

"What happened?" Dad asked Michael.

Michael told dad that I was just having a rough time with the divorce. Dad nodded and hugged me tight.

"Well, I think I'm done for the day. You ready to go Sam?"

I nodded and stood up with the help of dad. We walked to the car and dad drove home. When we got home I went to the bathroom while dad took Duke out. I realized I started my period. Great. I looked under the sink and grabbed a pad. When I was done, I washed my hands and then headed downstairs.

"Dad where's the heating pad?" I asked.

Dad came into the kitchen. He grabbed it from the cupboard.

"Did you start?" He asked. I nodded.

"Go sit on the couch. I'll get you your stuff."

I laid on the couch and Duke jumped up on my lap after I covered myself with a blanket. Dad came back in with a heating pad and some medicine. I took the medicine and laid down with the heating pad on my lower stomach. Dad moved my feet to sit down and put my feet over his lap.

"Do you need anything else princess?"

I shook my head. "I'm good. Can you turn on a movie."

Dad nodded and went to Netflix. He turned on trolls and I soon fell asleep to the sound of the tv.

I woke up a little while later and heard dad and Calum talking. I sat up and stretched before heading into the kitchen.

"Hi baby." Calum said.

I went into his open arms and let him squeeze me.

"Feeling ok?" Dad asked.

I nodded. Calum grabbed a bag off the counter and handed it to me. In it was chocolate.

"I know you're probably craving it." Calum said.

I smiled and hugged him.

We had dinner and then I went and took a bath. The water felt nice against my cramping body. After I was done. I changed into one of my dad's shirts and a pair of shorts. I put on a pair of socks and played a little bit of ukulele. I played on my phone until dad came in and told me I needed to get some sleep.

I woke up the next morning cramping really bad so I took some medicine and then changed my pad. I washed my face and brushed my teeth before going to change into some clothes. I put on black sweatpants and a loose fitting pink shirt. I put my hair into a ponytail and then had breakfast before leaving with Dad and Calum.

"Text me if you need me." Dad said.

I nodded. I spent most of my day working on school work. I went and saw Hannah for a bit but nothing really special happened.
____

A couple days later I woke up in the middle of the night in a lot of pain. I was cramping a lot. I got up and went to the bathroom. I was still bleeding pretty heavily. This kind of freaked me out because I was on day 6 of my cycle and this wasn't normal.

I went into my dad's room and went to wake him up.

"What going on baby girl? Why are you up?" Dad asked tiredly.

"Dad I think something's wrong."

Dad turned the light on and he could see the fear in my eyes.

"What going on?"

"I'm bleeding really heavily and I'm on day 6."

Dad sat up and pulled me into his chest. "Ok, were gonna go to the hospital."

Dad went and woke Calum up who ended up wanting to go as well. We all piled in the car and drove to the hospital. We went to the ER. We were given a room pretty quickly, due to who my dad is. After I was given an IV  they started to do some testing.

Dad and Calum stayed with me the entire time. They cracked some jokes to help with my anxiety and we waited for awhile before a doctor finally came in.

"It's fibroids."

"Are you sure. Aren't those only seen in adult women?" Dad asked.

"It's rare but teens can also get them. We just need to schedule the surgery for as soon as possible."

"My schedule will be cleared and I'll do it tomorrow morning." Calum said.

I got moved up to a hospital room where they made me change into a hospital gown. I was tired but my anxiety was keeping me up. Dad laid with me in the hospital bed and turned on friends. Dad had requested a relaxer to help me sleep.

"Don't fight the tiredness. Close your eyes. I'll be here when you wake up."

I felt dad kiss my head and I was out.
