Chapter 9: The Resurrection of Star Butterfly

Marco holding Star's body and the queens made to the magical sanctuary, "The Magical Sanctuary? How are we gonna save Star here Glossaryck?" Moon asked, Glossaryck only looked at Moon and pointed to the well leading to the realm of magic, Marco knew what they had to do, "We need to go to the realm of magic...." Marco said, the queens nodded and they all entered the realm of magic. "Right, now lay Star in the magic, and all the queens surround Star." Glossaryck said, and all the queens surrounded around Star and Marco, "Now, this part will be a bit hard to take in... but we need someone willing to use their magic to save her..." Glossaryck continued, "Huh, well that seems easy..." Eclipsa said but Glossaryck said otherwise, "That's not what I mean Eclipsa.... someone will have to give up their life to bring Star back... a soul for a soul you could say." Glossaryck said. Moon knowing the curse on her for using Eclipsa spell would take effect anytime now, decided to make the only reasonable choice, "I'll do it Glossaryck..." Moon said, Marco and the queens gasped, "Moon are you sure about this?! Giving up your life for Star is a big step, and-" but before Eclipsa could finish, Moon spoke up, "I know... but Star is my daughter... and I would do anything for her.", Marco and Eclipsa not wanting to argue to Moon about it, let her do it, "Take care of her Marco, I know she'll be in safe hands with you." Moon said, "Of course Moon, but there's something I need to ask of you." Marco said, "Of course, what is it?" Moon asked, then Marco whispered something into her ear, "Of course Marco, you do have it..." Moon said, "Thank you." Marco replied, Moon then looked at Eclipsa, "I'm sorry about everything Eclipsa, all that's happened to you..." Moon said, but soon Eclipsa embraced Moon in a hug, "It's ok Moon.... I forgive you..." Eclipsa said, then Moon looked at her mother, Queen Comet.

"Mother... I...." but before Moon could finish, Comet enveloped Moon in a hug, "I'm so proud of you sweetie, I knew you would be the queen you were destined to be, and you raised a beautiful daughter who always knew what to do. I could not be more proud of you..." Comet said tears in her eyes, Moon smiled and tears formed in her eyes as she hugged Comet, Moon then approached Star's body and held her hand, "Ok, I'm ready..." Moon said, Glossaryck then nodded, "Alright, Marco be next to Star so we can do the final step, my queens you need to dip down and circle them." Glossaryck said, the queens then dipped down and entered their butterfly forms and started to circle Moon, Star, and Marco. Glossaryck let the queens get some speed before they moved to the final part, "Alright, Marco now it's down to you, all you need to do is something that bonds you and Star together." Glossaryck said, Marco then knew what to do, he grabbed Star's body, Glossaryck noticed that Star's cheek marks started to crack and fade, "We don't have much time kid, if you don't hurry we'll loose her forever!" Glossaryck said, Marco readied himself and kissed Star his crescent cheek marks glowing bright, soon Star's heart cheeks started glowing bright and a bright flash had appeared.

The flash faded and the queens turned back to normal, Marco held Star close hoping for her to wake up, "Star? Star... wake up please..." Marco said, and soon Star slowly opened her eyes. "M-Mar...co...?" Star slowly said, Marco filled with tears of joy as he hugged Star relieved that she's alive, "Star!!! Your alive!!!" Marco yelled, "M-Marco!! You saved me!!" Star said, "Well, it wasn't just me Star... your mom also...." Marco was about to finish when he gasped forgetting that Moon gave her life to save Star's, Moon on the verge of finally being at peace wanted to see Star one last time, "Mom?! Are you ok?!" Star asked, "I.... I'm sorry sweetie, Glossaryck said in order to save you.... another had to take your.... place...." Moon said and Star immediately knew what she was talking about, "Mom... you didn't!!!" Star shouted, Moon nodded, "It's ok Star... you have so much to look forward too... take care of yourself sweetie... you've proven to be the greatest daughter I could ever have.... I'm so very proud of you...." Moon said smiling to Star, Star enveloped Moon in a hug and Moon hugged back and soon fell motionless, Star held Moon's body tightly crying as she knew she was gone, Marco comforted Star as she cried, they soon left the magic Marco comforting Star while the queens carried Moon back to the castle with Star and Marco leading them.

Star and Marco made it back to the castle, all their friends recovering after the battle, "Star!! Marco!!! You did it!!" Tom said, but noticed Star was sad and knew something was wrong, they just kept walking to the castle, everyone confused was wondering why Star was sad only to have their questions answered when they saw the queens carrying Moon's body. After the castle was rebuilt a funeral service was held for Queen Moon and everyone attended, "We are all gathered today to reflect on a queen who was brave and kind right till the very end. Queen Moon was a queen who always put her subjects before herself in times of danger, and now someone very special would like to say some words about Queen Moon, Star...?" Skywyne said, then Star with Marco went up to the podium, "Uhhh hi... I'm uhhhh... I'm not good at these types of things, but.... my mom though not always having a plan always looked after me, and protected me and her subjects with her life, even if it meant she would die in the process..." Star said, she wanted to continue but Skywyne saw she was trying to hold back tears so she intervened, "Thank you Star for those kind words, now if we all would have a moment of silence for Queen Moon the Undaunted..." Skywyne said, Star and Marco left the podium and soon the funeral was over and Moon's coffin was put in the Butterfly Tomb.

After the funeral, Star and Marco left the room to get some fresh air after all that depression, "I just... I can't believe she's finally gone..." Star said, Marco feeling bad for Star takes his suit coat off and puts it around Star, "Thanks Marco..." Star said, "No problem Star... I'll always be here for you." Marco replied, and soon the two comforted each other and soon the funeral service was over. "Will you be able to cope on your own Star?" Skywyne asked, "Don't worry, I have Marco to take care of me, but if you wish to stay for a bit longer your welcome too." Star said, "Well some queens decided they want to head back to their times, but me and Comet will stay a bit longer, just to make sure your really ok." Skywyne said, "Alright, I'll get the portal open..." Star said, she then enters her butterfly mode and opened a portal and Skywyne used her time spell in reverse to make the portal go back in time to send the queens back to their times and soon after that, Star needed some alone time.
