"Are you sure this is ok?"

Namjoon was panting harshly, back pressing against the mirror of their practice room. Hoseok's heavy breathing was starting to fog up the glass right in front of him, forehead placed atop of the fragile material and chin lightly resting on Namjoon's shoulder.

They had been there for a good two hours now, because Hoseok wanted someone to accompany him while he went over his dance moves. It was always Hoseok, the best at dancing, the one that wanted to improve the most. Namjoon found it fascinating how he could have so much drive and motivation; it was always an interesting thing to watch Hoseok's concentrated expression through the mirror.

Of course, he obliged to staying in the practice room with him even if just a little longer. But instead of dancing with him (today his ankles hurt a little bit more than most days, but that was alright. He didn't dance today mostly out of tiredness), Namjoon sat in the corner of the room, with a notepad in hand, scratching his temple with the eraser end of his pencil.

This was Namjoon's favorite place to write besides the calm space of his studio. The air conditioner was always set at just the right intensity, and he enjoyed the way every little sound echoed throughout the whole room. It was refreshing, in a way, to be away from the suffocating stuffiness of the studio for once, even if just a little while. But mostly because Hoseok was there.

They liked sharing moments like this, where there was nothing but comfortable silence and occasional over-the-shoulder glances that Namjoon couldn't help but store in the back of his mind for future reference. To Namjoon, though, moments like these were kind of bittersweet, sometimes even kind of tense, because Namjoon never really found any closure in them. Hoseok and Namjoon had managed to stand on the perfect middle ground between best friends and something more, and Namjoon was irritated, to say the least.

There were times, like this one, when Hoseok would invite Namjoon and only Namjoon to stay up for another while, while he danced. Namjoon felt like Hoseok did that so they would have more time together, so Hoseok could bump Namjoon's shoulder with his on the way home, so maybe when they got home all beds would be occupied and they would have to share.

But that was just Namjoon's thoughts going wild, he thought. There's no other intention hidden in Hoseok's actions other than some company. After all, out of the group they were the most like brothers than anyone else, except for maybe Taehyung and Jimin.

But then if it's just brotherly love, why does Namjoon's throat tighten every time Hoseok lets out an exasperated gasp at every missed step in their choreography?

"Shit,"

"Do that again, I think you turned around too quick on that one."

"Yeah, I did. Thanks,"

Namjoon watched as Hoseok moved his hips and swayed his arms to a rhythm no one but him could hear, as Hoseok decided not to play the song through the speakers so that Namjoon could focus on writing his lyrics, and had been dancing musicless instead. Except for the times where he would unconsciously mutter the lyrics as he went.

A shiver would go up Namjoon's spine every time he heard a familiar line, one he had written and re-written over and over again in the same notebook he was holding. He went back a few pages and found the song Hoseok was practicing, and joined Hoseok in rapping the lyrics of the song;
