DANIELLA'S POV
3 weeks later
My eyes danced around the cafeteria, never getting enough of its beauty as I sipped my drink. It's been three weeks since I've been in the Academy, as well as Los Angeles. At first the dynamic of how things worked here were foreign to me, but now I've gotten familiar with my surroundings. So far things were going well, at least some of them.
My music teacher, Mrs.White says I've been making quick progress and it's only a matter of time before I'll be transferred to a more advanced Music class.
My relationship with Vicky, Bella and Sophie was going strong if you ask me. It's only been a few weeks but it feels like I've known them my whole life. We meet up every morning at the hallway, sit together during lunch and when we're having the same classes. We've also hanged out a few times after school. We were basically a typical high school girl group.
Michael and Chris also fall under the category of my close friends lately. They're nothing but gentlemen that never fail to brighten up my day. They've also grown acquainted with Bella and Vicky and can sometimes be flirty but their charms didn't work on me, but I can't say the same for Vicky. Did I mention that they're the epitome of fun? Most times you wouldn't even notice Jason was there.
Speaking of, occasionally when the girls and I bump into Chris and Michael in the mornings, Jason had no choice but to be there. Just because I'm friends with his friends, gladly, did not automatically make us friends. But we weren't constantly up each other's noses either. We only tolerated each other's presence for the sake of the friends that we shared. We didn't have to talk to each other, hell we only talk if we have to. It was like a silent agreement between us to not cause any more drama and I was fine with where we stood.
Despite my lack of communication with Jason, Eva still seemed to think I was after 'her man' as she put it the other day she cornered me. She was pretty straightforward unlike the first time we met. She warned me to stop stealing Jason away from her, and taking her spotlight in the Academy or I'll get what's coming to me. I didn't feel the least bit threatened by her words. If she wants war, I'll give it to her. Besides, I was never trying to do anything in the first place. It's not my fault her twisted little mind thinks I want to be with Jason, nor is it my fault that I've gained popularity among the student body these past few weeks. Well, maybe it kind of is given that I'm the girl that stepped all over their King.
While thoughts of Eva fill me with resentment, the same can't be said for Scott who fills me with different kinds of emotions that swirls like butterflies in my stomach. These past few weeks, my feelings for him grew undeniably stronger. The fact that he's sometimes around the house after school doesn't help either. When Vicky and Sophie found out about my crush for him, they decided to 'help me get my man' thus establishing what they like to call Operation Cupid. For two weeks now, they played matchmaker, trying to 'trigger his feelings for me' putting us in 'romantic situations'. But how could you trigger something when it wasn't there in the first place? The last time we tried to make him jealous through the phone call from my 'boyfriend' but at the end of the day he was excited for me. That's when I gave up and told my friends to quit Operation Cupid. It's better to accept the hard truth than to keep wasting my time trying to impress him. He could only ever see me as Dylan's cousin. He could only ever see me as a friend.
Even Dylan had somehow caught on to my feelings for his friend. I wouldn't say he knows for sure but he gets suspicious. Last weekend, there I was with a heavy heart sprawled on my bed writing in my diary about Scott and my failed attempts at wooing him. Next thing I knew, Dylan barges into my room, sees me writing and he's out the door with the book threatening to read it. My heart caught up in my throat as panic flooded my veins and I did the only thing I could think of that moment. Few minutes later, I have Aunt Emily at my side and we barged into his room before he could even read a page. Much to my pleasure, I was given my diary back and Dylan was given dishes duty for two weeks. That'll teach him not to mess with me.
Unlike Dylan, Connor and Jay-Jay always brought a smile to my face and I loved to hang out with them. Connor's intelligence always fascinated me. Surely his dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon will come to pass given the attention he puts to his studies. Jay-Jay's caring and fun attitude is what I love about him. He cheers me up even when everything is going haywire. He's the sweetest.
As for my Aunt and uncle, I've grown quite acquainted with them. They treat me with so much love and respect, just like a daughter, and for that I'm grateful.
