Chapter 10

I walked towards my desk and started doing my work but the only concerns in my mind were those related to the CEO of this company. My mind wandered through those interactions with him. He seemed innocent. But I cannot be sure yet. There was so much more to do, to find out if he's really innocent or not.

I sat there quietly enquiring my surrounding to ensure that there were no eyes on me. I then took out my cell from the pocket and connected the USB cable to the CPU and my phone and carefully transferred the 'Purple Hearts' software to the computer. This was a hacking software which was only used by the agents of my agency and the information about this software was confidential. So, only about 20-30 people in this world know about this software. This is a very efficient software and once it is set up and activated it can hack through any system no matter how strong the security is. I successful transferred the software, now the only thing that was left was to activate it. I knew that all the systems in the Wang Groups was interconnected so it was easy to control the entire company by just hacking a single system.

Now, the only thing that was left was to activate the software. But, that would take quite sometime and it wouldn't be safe to do it while it's still bright outside, ie., when there are people roaming around the office, and it would create problems if someone notices my activity. So, I somehow have to sneak in during night and should activate the software and that would be my first step towards revealing his true identity.

I checked my watch and it was 12:45 pm already. I had to leave early today as I had to attend classes at the University and I also had to meet Yubin as I had a few things to discuss with him. Well, that means that I can't be meeting Yibo today and should wait for him till tomorrow.

Agency Headquarters

I finished my classes and then went to the Agency headquarters to meet Mr. Paul Yubin.

"Hello, Mr. Paul " I greeted him as I entered his cabin.

"Hello, Mr. Xiao. How are you doing? "

"Great, I guess. " He chuckled at my statement.

"Did you find anything? You said you have something to discuss with me. "

"Yes, Mr. Paul. I set up the software today, the only thing left is to activate it and I guess I'll be doing it tonight. And about the tracking devices, I'll install it tomorrow. So, what next? Do you have any plan? "

"Go with the flow. Take it easy. It's not easy for him to escape from our clutches. So, we need not worry even if we delay. Try to gain his trust and favor and even his love if possible as it would be easy for us to get things done once the target is infected by the love virus. "

"But, he seems innocent. Don't you think it'll be unfair if we play with his feelings and later realize that he's innocent. " I don't know why, but a part of my mind keeps stating that he's innocent.

"Don't worry about that. Anyhow we will be erasing his memory once the mission is accomplished. "
Right, how could I forget this. The memory of the target will be erased once the mission is completed. I had done this several times. Yes, that would be it. The part of his memory which has me in it will be erased eventually. So, I need not worry about hurting his feelings. I just need to concentrate on completing this mission and sleeping for a month without being disturbed.

Wang Groups

It's 11pm and there are only a very few employees who are on their night shift. I successfully sneaked in. I then walked to my desk avoiding the surveillance cameras. I had to be on my guard. I can't let people notice me as I know I'll be bombarded with questions if someone finds out that I'm here at the office at this late hour. What work does an intern have at this hour?

I quickly made my way to my desk. I then turned on the system and started activating the software. It took about 15 mins and finally, the software had been activated. That means, now almost all the information of the Wang Groups was at my finger tip. Not just that, all the systems including that of the CEO' was under my control. I heaved a long sigh as I felt relaxed. I quickly turned off the computer and walked towards the staircase. It would be easy to avoid the cameras if I use the staircase as there wasn't much cameras installed there.

As soon as I opened the door leading to the staircase, I saw a silhouette approaching dowards the door. I was quite scared as I didn't expect anyone there. And was taken aback when I figured out who it was. It was Xue Yang. He stood in his tracks when he saw me open the door. He looked confused.

"Aren't you the new intern who keeps flirting with Yibo? "

"Hello, Mr. Xue Yang. Yes, I am. But I'm not flirting with him. I really like him. " I said in a relaxed tone.

"You do? Well, there are many girls and boys who are literally dying for him. So the competition is high. "

"I'll try my best then. " I said in a confident tone.

"But what are you doing here? That too at this hour? I believe that no intern has a night shift. " His tone was serious this time.

"Ah, ye-- yes" I stuttered as I searched for reasons. "Well, the thing is that, I had dropped my wallet here. I realized it when I was on my way back home from university. So, I had to come back to search for it. "

"You found it? "

"Yes, yes. I found it. " I showed him a red wallet which I took out from my backpack.

"Good. But why are you using the stairs instead of the elevator? "

Yubin was right. Yang really notices things easily.

"Using elevator all the time isn't really good. You should use the stairs too, so that you can stay healthy. It's a kind of exercise. " I smiled at him.

"Yes, you are right. But I think it's not safe for you to walk through the empty staircase. I mean look at the time. So, it's better if you take the elevator. " He suggested.

"Okay. " I had no other choice but to agree.

We both walked towards the elevator. He pushed the button for me. We waited for the doors to open. We got in as soon as the doors opened.

"Do you want me to drop you back home? "

"No. I can just hire a cab. "

"It's late already. Just give me your address and I'll drop you. "

I nodded.

We were then in his car. All his concentration was on the road.

"Where's the CEO? Were you alone at the office? "

"Yes. I had to fetch few documents. Yibo had a family dinner so he left early today. "

"Family dinner? Sounds good. "

"By the way, how can you just openly flirt with him like that? Aren't you afraid that you might get fired? "

"From the office or from his heart? " I innocently looked at Yang.

He looked at me and shook his head, smiling.

"Do you really like him? "
Yes, I do. Because I have to complete this mission. I have to take a break. It's been a long time since I slept peacefully.

"I love him.
Don't ask me why 'cause love doesn't have a reason to be born. I just know that I love him. "

Yang didn't ask about it anymore and we soon arrived at my house. Yang then bid a bye and drove away.

I jumped onto my bed as soon as I entered the room and lay flat on my stomach. I needed some time to relax.
I then opened my laptop and entered the software. The software which I used to hack was directly connected with my phone and laptop so that it would be easy for me to access the information.

I browsed through the files, department wise, which I hacked and I read them carefully. There wasn't anything that was out of place or suspicious.
I then took a look at the documents which belonged to the CEO' computer. It was all secured with passwords. So, it took me sometime to access the information.

And what I saw shocked me. It wasn't something that I was expecting.
