Chapter 17

"Congratulations. " Emily said with a smirk on her face.

"Thank you, but, you shouldn't be happy right? " I asked her.

"Every dog has it's day. "

"What? "

"Seeing you fall off from a much greater height is much more enjoyable. " She said sarcastically.

"But, I have someone to catch me down there. So I wouldn't mind falling. " I smashed back.

"Yes, I'll be waiting to catch you. My arms are ready to wrap you anytime. "
Yibo stood behind me wrapping his hands around my shoulder and placing a soft kiss on my earlobe.

"When will you guys stop being soo lovey-dovey in public? " Yang asked.

"You have an option to close your eyes. " Yibo answered and I laughed.
"And Emily, please stop being harsh on him. I love him and that isn't his fault. "
I turned to look at Yibo's face and he tightned his grip on my shoulder. Emily didn't speak anything else, she just nodded and looked down. I could feel that she was hurt, she loved him, and it wasn't her fault.

"Zhan, I want to speak with you. " Yibo said and I nodded.

We both returned to his office. We sat on the sofa and I rested my head on his shoulder. It was very comfortable and warm. He tightly wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me closer.

"So, what's it? " I lifted my head to look at him.

"Move to The Skyline. " He said.

"The Skyline? But why? " I asked feeling confused. The Skyline was a multi-story building which belonged to the Wang Groups and that's where Yibo stays.

"I want to keep you closer. So that I can make sure that you're safe. I don't want you to stay away from me. " He said in a low voice.

"Mr. Wang Yibo, I'm the agent on mission who's supposed to protect you and not the other way round. " I chuckled.

"I know, but still. I also want to protect the person I love. Just stay by my side, please. " He made puppy eyes and that was enough to melt my heart.

"But we aren't staying together, right?" I raised my eyebrow.

"We can, if you wish. " He said smiling.

"Thanks for your offer, but I decline. " I laughed.

"Let's see for how long you can resist this handsome man's charm. " He smirked.

I moved to The Skyline. My flat was at the 28th floor. It had all kinds of modern furnitures and the interiors was just to my liking. The balcony in my room had a beautiful view of the city. Yibo's penthouse was at the last floor of the building, i.e., the 32nd floor, just 4 floors above mine. I was busy inspecting the house when I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and it was that handsome man that I was expecting. He leaned against the door frame with his hands crossed against his chest. This man is going to be the death of me.

"Liked it? " He asked.

"Loved it. " I replied.

"Let's go. " He held my hand.

"Where? " I asked.

"You'll see. " He dragged me to the elevator.

We soon entered the 32nd floor and as soon as the elevator doors opened the view of his penthouse made me gape. It was magnificent.
