Magic is real. I swear

"Ok, explain everything," Lonnie demanded as she closed the door to my room. We sat on my bed once again.

We had just gotten back from the big game. I had stayed there to congratulate Jay, Carlos and my brother, but Lonnie had kept pestering me about Carlos. So, she had managed to get me away from there, and drag me to my room.

"Well, you know how I told you I might like Carlos?" I asked her.
"How could I forget," she laughed.

I twiddled my fingers, and looked out at the Isle. "I think I might love him..." I trailed off. She just stared at me, bewildered.
"Wait. What?!" She screamed, smiling. I laughed.
"I know right. It came on so suddenly!"

"Wait, wait, wait, wait," she stopped me. "Nobody who has just realized they like a person, suddenly loves them, unless something big has happened. So what changed? What happened between the two of you today?"

I put a finger to my chin, and thought. I tried to go through my day, but all I could mainly remember was when Carlos gave me that cookie. "Well..." I replied. "Carlos came up to my locker today and gave me a cookie. And that was the best cookie I have ever tasted!" I licked my lips. "I guess that's when I realized I loved him. And that his freckles are so cute!" I giggled.
"Was that a giggle?" Lonnie asked me skeptically. "You never giggle." I froze.
"Maybe..." I trailed off and looked at my comforter.

I traced the fabric with my fingertips. Was that satin? Hmm.

"Ok," she said, getting back to the point. "He gave you a cookie. He gave you a cookie...." she said it slower the second time, clearly processing it, then she lit up. "(Y/N), that's a treat from a villain. I bet he put a love spell on you!"

I laughed. "Lonnie, you're crazy. I think I would know if I was spelled." She rolled her eyes.
"Ok, then who else ate the cookie? Did you see Carlos take a bite?"
"No, but Mal did offer some to Ben."

Lonnie clapped her hands together. "That would explain why Ben is all of a sudden so crazy in love with Mal! Don't you see it? The facts are all there!"

No. It couldn't be true.

"Yeah, but we ate the batter last night, and we weren't affected," I explained, trying to come up with some logical excuse. But Lonnie was not buying it.

"It wasn't baked yet. And you saw how the VKs reacted when we tried it. They freaked out!" Lonnie replied blatantly.

"Lonnie, this is crazy," I told her. "I mean, what motive would Carlos even have to put a love spell on me?" I asked her. She shrugged.
"I don't know. Maybe he just really likes you. Or maybe he wanted a better seat at the coronation. I don't know."
"I still don't believe you," I said.

She smirked. "Ok. What are you thinking about right now."
"Carlos."
"How about now?"
"Carlos."
"And now?"
"Carlos-oh! I've been spelled!" I screamed, jumping up from the bed. I started pacing my room, trying to think of what to do next.

I had been put under a love spell! Should I be honored? Should I be mad? I don't even know anymore! I mean, I don't know of any other person who had been in this kind of situation before. Now, it had happened to me, and my brother!

"Ok, ok, ok. Everything is going to be fine. Now all you have to do is just tell Carlos you know he put a spell on you, and walk away from it," Lonnie told me.

I flipped around to face her. I was freaking out!

"Are you crazy?!" I asked her. "I can't do that. I'm still spelled to love the guy, remember? And, I already did sort of like him, so what if this works!
