Croquet can't fix this

"Okay, we all know what this looks like," Mal said, pointing to her drawing. The VKs were going over their plan to steal Fairy Godmother's magic wand.

She continued, pointing to various locations on her map of the castle. "So, we'll be up on the dais under the Beast's spell jar, and we'll be coming in from here. Carlos and I will be in the very front. Evie and Jay, you guys will all be up in the balcony."
"Okay," Evie confirmed.

"Jay?" Mal asked.
"Okay, so I'll find our limo, so we can break the barrier and get back on the island with the wand," he said.
"Perfect."

"Evie?"
"Yeah?"

Mal pulled out a blue bottle of magic perfume. "You will use this to take out the driver. Two sprays and he'll be out like a light." Evie carefully took the bottle and nodded, putting it into her bag.

The VKs looked at one another, nervous and hesitant. They all knew that none of them actually wanted to do this, but they didn't want to admit it to themselves, each other, or their parents.

Jay and Carlos went over to their beds. Evie started to walk away, until she noticed that Mal was reading an anti love spell from her spellbook.

"M?"

Mal quickly looked up at Evie. "You want to break Ben's love spell?" She asked her. Mal looked back at her book with glazed eyes.
"Yeah. You know, for after," Mal explained.

Evie sat back down next to her. "I don't..." she started, but trailed off.
"I've just been thinking, you know, when the villains finally do invade Auradon," she explained to Evie. "And begin to loot and kick everyone out of their castles and imprison their leaders and destroy all that is good and beautiful..."

She had now gotten Carlos and Jay's attention. Their plan was starting to sound a lot more grim than when they first came to Auradon.

"Ben still being in love with me just seems a little extra....cruel."

There was a beat of silence, then Carlos spoke up. "Mal?" She looked back at him as he laid his hand on Dude. He had sad eyes, and tried to get the words out. "Can you make me one too?"

She nodded, then looked down. Carlos sighed, and looked out the window at the other side of the castle, where my bedroom was.

Disrupting the thoughts of the group, Mal abruptly closed her book, and quickly left the room. "M?" Evie called after her, but there was nothing she could do to change the way Mal was feeling right then.

Mal stirred the ingredients she needed for the cupcake anti love spell. She was thinking about everything that had happened. How could she betray (Y/N), Ben and Auradon like this? But she had too. She had to be like her mother, or there would be serious consequences. Little did she know that the other VKs were feeling the same way.

Jay had made it on tourney. He had brought the team a win, and now had a better relationship with Carlos, Ben and his coach. He loved the game even more than stealing. And even if (Y/N) might not ever like him in a romantic sense, he wanted to become better friends with her. But he couldn't let his father down.

Carlos laid in his bed. He couldn't fall asleep. He had been a jerk to (Y/N). He loved her, but all he had been doing was using her for their plan. He loved her, and didn't want to lose her.

Evie pulled her test out of her nightstand draw. She wasn't just a pretty face. She was so smart, and she had a guy that she really liked, who always had her back. She had (Y/N) as a new sister and friend, and she had grown a lot closer with Mal. How could she just listen to her mother, and leave all of that?
