You turn around to see the tall boy you met at the convenience store yesterday. You almost forgot about his height compared to yours. To be quite honest it was almost intimidating. Yet his friendly smile seemed to ward off the feeling of uneasiness and replace it with comfort.
"Hey, Lev! Of course, I'd make it, baka. I have to be there to support my team!"
You chuckled happily. Hinata who stood not far from you finally broke out of his thoughts and greeted Lev. You could hear a slight bit of hostility in his voice which led you to come to the conclusion that he wouldn't forgive you or Yachi anytime soon.
Lev began to playfully pick at Hinata about his height, not thinking much about the current mood of the small middle blocker. It only took a minute before he became pissed. To be fair you didn't blame him. But maybe he just needed a bit of time alone now. You didn't want to throw off his game and potentially cost him the match.
"Lev, maybe it's best if you leave him alone for now."
Lev's playful expression softened as you suggested to leave Hinata alone. He finally began to realize how bad of a mood he was truly in. With that Lev quickly apologized to the pissed off boy in front of them.
"I apologize Hinata. I didn't mean to..."
He was cut off by Hinata. The ginger looked up to Lev with anger still evident in his eyes. Before looking at you with a bit of a softer look.
"Yeah, whatever. I'll talk to you, after the match y/n." Hinata said before grumpily stomping away.
You wanted to hug him and comfort him but you knew now wasn't really the appropriate time or place for that. Hinata just turned and began walking away. You felt bad for him honestly and you wanted to make it up to him in some way.
Lev dismissed Hinata and turned all his attention to you. His friendly smile returned on his as he gave you a small piece of paper. It had numbers scribbled on it, written pretty neatly, and obviously rushed.
"It's my phone number. You can call or talk to me at any time you want."
You smiled and put his number safely in your pocket. You were going to add him to your contacts after the game, but for now, you two just got to know each other better as you walked to the gym.
He began asking small questions like what you're hobbies were, your favorite color, etc. You answered them only to return the curiosity by asking questions of your own. Before you knew it you reached the gym and had to part ways. You headed into the stands and waved at your team who seemed more than happy to see you.
Before the match started you checked your phone and texted your mother, checking in with her to see how she was doing. She eventually responded saying that she was fine and would most likely be sleeping by the time you returned home. She had also mentioned that she bought some chicken nuggets for you and they were in the freezer.
[They better be dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets]A smile grew on your face. You were honestly still a child at heart and really craved chicken nuggets. You snapped a quick photo of yourself and posted it to your social media profile before closing your phone. The ref blew the whistle and the match officially began.
~Timeskip until the match ends~
The match was officially over and the score was 23-25 with Nekoma claiming victory. The entire game was extremely close with Karasuno occasionally taking the lead. Unfortunately, the long rallies towards the end must have taken its toll on both teams as exhaustion was plastered on all of their faces.
You went down the stairs and walked up to your team. All but one of them greeted you. You began to tell them how proud you were of them even though they may have lost the match. You tried your best to lighten the mood of the tired team, but even when you did they would still remain pretty worn out.
