23. Game Night

You waited patiently for Lev to return home. You had been tied to the bedpost again but this would be your last day being tied up. He promised that if you behaved then he would let you wander the house while he was gone.

For the past couple of days, you were on your best behavior. You would wake up and give him all the attention that he required. You had become one hell of an actress. Sometimes you were so caught up with the little act, you had even forgotten that you were being held captive.

You would sit down and plan out your next scene. Maybe when he returned you would act like the pretty daisy* you once were. As long as you could distract yourself until your knight in shining armor came to rescue you.

The last time you had checked the calendar it was almost time for the third years to graduate. You were sure that their ceremony had passed and it was about 2 weeks since Yaku's death.

You still would think about Yaku from time to time but you had learned to only think about the happy things you experienced together.

The front door slammed shut letting you know that Lev had returned. You could hear his footsteps coming closer as he announced that he was home. You quickly composed yourself and prepared to shower him with your counterfeit love.

He entered the room giving you a lovely heartwarming smile. Something was different. Instead of you internally cringing and forcing yourself to return a smile, you naturally felt a genuine heartfelt smile creep onto your lips.

"I'm missed you."

He smiled as he began to untie you from the post. Usually, when you greeted him you lied about how much you were anticipating his arrival. Something about what you said was true. This time did miss him and you were happy to see him again.

"I missed you too."

As soon as you were free, you ran into his arms and showered him with kisses. This feeling in your chest was odd. It was almost like the same feeling you had with Yaku.

He picked you up and you wrapped your legs around his torso. With every step he took, you could feel yourself cling onto him more. Were you finally starting to accept Lev?

He brought you to the couch before sitting down with you on his lap. You held him close and snuggled into his warm chest. You could feel his heartbeat and his muscles slightly tense as he pressed buttons on the remote.

Every movement he made was delicate and fluid. He didn't even tense up uncomfortably for the entire time you were close to him. He lightly began to stroke and play with your hair.

His touch was soothing compared to before. The anxiety you had faded leaving you completely in a tranquil state of mind. You began to space out and just enjoy the feeling of being connected.

Lev's hands lightly traced your spine, tickling you a bit. You snapped back into reality flinching at the feeling. He chuckled and began to lightly tickle you. You eventually became a hysterical mess, laughing and nearly crying at the odd feeling.

Eventually, he stopped and you began to catch your breath. You now lied across his lap and you looked at the tv which was flipped upside down.

You both passed time by holding a slight conversation and joking around a bit. He was truly happy when you were happy. Whenever he saw you smile and laugh it brought joy to his heart.

He suggested that you play Monopoly together just because. You eagerly agreed determined to beat him and brag afterward. It was a common thing to do after beating someone who claims to be good at a certain game.

You grabbed the board and set it on the coffee table before sitting on the floor across from Lev. From this height, he looked like a giant and you had to strain your neck to look him in the eyes.
