Bird Cage I

Guliano, home of the pure hearted. As it says, the duchy is filled to the brim with unique architecture and lush forest. Stories of romance and tender hearts is embellished in the land's image. A fantastical land under the kingdom of Cofhelia. The son of the duke of Guliano, Evgine is in search of something more in his life. Adventure or love, he scouts out independently ignoring the old duke's frustration.

In his recent travels, he stops by a quiet village but what awaits him is something more. The villagers told him of the haunted forest, they said something creeps inside the forest, but is not sure what or why. Furthermore, their men, women and livestock keeps disappearing in the middle of the night, suspecting the forest as the cause of the disturbance. Evgine nobly accepts the quest, leaving his trusty horse by the village as the creature refuse to enter the forest. The noble wanders through the forest with a sword at hand and a shining armor to boot, no creature dared to approach him. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, but then he heard a distinct sound. A chirp? No, a song. A bird? No, this voice range sounds distinctively human-like. Like throwing a bone near a dog, Evgine runs towards the sound, getting as lost in the forest as ever. It is pulling him inch by inch of his heart. The forest is getting darker and more compacted, hard to see if the day is still shining. But there, after scouring past thick trees, a lone tower in the middle of a large plot of land. He saw a woman on top of the tower, serenading a lovely tune. She saw him and he saw her. She stops her singing. He approached the tower.

"Oh, lovely princess by the tower. May I know who you are and may you return with me to my castle"

No respond came. But he was persistent

"Please, I've not seen a woman much like you. Your beauty is immeasurable and this heart of mine longs for you"

Again, no respond came.

"May I at the least see you or listen to your voice."

None.

The noble sigh in disappointed, he turned and drag his body back into the forest. But then suddenly, he heard a drop.

He turned around and saw a long strand of hair, stretching from the ground up on top of the window of the tower. Seeing no other way to get up the tower, he accepts the invitation. He climbs up the tower using the hair, grinning stupidly as he does.

He finally pulled himself up to the window as he then saw his maiden standing in the middle of the room. Her hair was still scouring through the tower. But seeing that it's night at the moment, Evgine can't really see what's inside of the room as much as he tries to see. He then turned back to his maiden.

The maiden then said with her eyes locking at his, "I am sorry"

A day after, a duo appeared in the aforementioned village.

"Evgine of the oh-so royal duchy of Guliano" said Quinn disguised as a castle guard of Guliano, stroking his chin, "The brat somehow sneaked out yesterday and ran his horse down to this village seeking for a glorious quest is what I'm getting at. Waddya think Barry"

"Idiot" grumbled Barry, Quinn's partner. Standing tall, under the helmet and armor is a rough mug with a distinctively inhuman appearance. A look of his appearance, he is without a doubt a firbolg. A magical race, in touch with the woodlands. An intimidating but commonly peaceful folk.

As stated by the village, Evgine was last seen adventuring into the forest. The villagers warned the duo of the disappearance but hoped that they solve the problem once and for all. Quinn noticed that the village was quiet, it was not deserted but the people in the village prefer to not be in presence. Their nature can be seen by their livestock. Hidden from plain sight but one can see them between settlements, careful from wandering around. Their people were quiet, but they were also gripping their sharp tools close to them. An eye of pity was caught from some of the villagers and their prayer can sometime be heard. A pray calling for safety unto a person.
