Ahmed's POV

8pm.I returned from the gym and took a refreshing shower.I put on a warm black T-shirt and a casual track and styled my hair.After calling my parents and talking to them for a good ten minutes,I went downstairs for dinner.

Sameer and his mother was talking with some serious expressions in their faces.Unusually,at this time of night,Sameer was dressed in formals.He had his car key swinging from his forefinger.

"Sameer,Can't you please take one hour permission and go?Please!What will she do alone at this time?She don't even know our address properly." Aunty was talking with worries plastered all over her face.

"Mom..I didn't know that this kind of emergency will arise.I struggled five years to get this 'Dr' in front of my name not for just a name sake.I should be there for my patients." Sameer said pacing restlessly.

"Then what about family?What will she think of you if you do this to her?You can't even go receive her in person.And you are not the only doctor in that hospital."Aunty said angrily.

"Fine mom.I will go receive her.Okay?!Please let me go now." Sameer retorted with annoyance evident in his voice.

Thats when I came into sight for both of them.They were busy arguing and didn't even saw me entering.

"What happened aunty?Why he look so agitated?" I asked as soon as she saw me.

"Ah.His duty calls it seems.And he can't do his mother a favour."Aunty said with a sigh.

"I said okay.Now please stop this.I will ask someone else to take care of the patient." He said frowning at his watch.

"Ahmed!Can you come along with me?Because I think I won't drive in my normal senses at this situation."He asked me with a wink.I understood he is planning something insanely wicked.But I can't say no to my best friend,so I agreed.

"Can I ask Ahmed to go pick her up?" Sameer asked his mom in an attempt to persuade her.

"Sameer..Am saying you this for the last time.She don't know Ahmed and he doesn't know her either.So,it will be difficult for them to find eachother.So..Please go,pick her up,drop her safely at home and then go wherever you want!" She ordered.Sameer just shook his head unbelievably.

"She doesn't even know me.She last saw me when I was seventeen.She will not recognise me even if I go." Sameer said.

"She may.You go!" Said aunty angrily.

"You are impossible mom!" He said and sat beside me in the car.I am driving after 5 months.But it didn't feel out of touch,I felt lively.The usual Ahmed is returning gradually I thought.

"Take right!" Sameer said sharply after driving across the street.

"What?!We should take left for airport." I said confused.

"But for our hospital,its right.Now take right!" He almost scolded me.I took a right turn.

"But aunty asked you to go to the airport." I said.

"Yeah.But this surgery is more important dude.That patient is a high grade malignancy case.He is in pain and I can't be at peace for the rest of my life if I let him die because of my personal matters.So please do me a favour!After dropping me in the hospital,go straight away to the airport.Her flight arrives only by 9:30pm.So we have time." He said finally revealing his plan.

"But..Aunty said I don't know.." I started to give him a logical excuse but he cut me short.

"Yeah..yeah..I will show you her photo.You will easily recognise her as she don't wear too much make-up and all." He said taking his phone and opening the picture gallery.
