The next day the whole pogue gang and I were out on the boat, fishing in the nice warm sun. "John B you never told me what was going on last night." Kie said. "Sarah and I, its complicated." I replied. "They're macking each other." JJ said. "Yeah, they're totally macking." Pope added. "What? You're making Sarah Cameron? John b you know how evil she is." Kie said, starting to get mad. "Kie, she's not that bad anymore." "Do you remember what she did to me? She was evil. She invited everyone except me to her birthday party in 8th grade." "Look, I think she's changed. She seems much nicer now." Kiara rolled her eyes and said "I can't believe you're dating her. but when she breaks your heart too don't come crying to me." After a long afternoon of fishing, I had to go to Sarah's house to clean some tree branches off the roof because of a storm from the night before. When I got there Ward told me to go through the window in Sarah's room so I wouldn't have to pull up a latter. I went upstairs and knocked on her door, and she opened it and said "Woah, what are you doing here?" "I'm here to clean the branches off your roof madame." She started laughing and she said "Well then my sir, after you." I walked into her bedroom and she shut the door after and immediately starting making out with me. After a couple minutes I said as my forehead leaned on hers, "I really gotta start before your dad fires me again." She giggled and opened the window. I climbed up there and started throwing the branches off from the gutters, being careful not to hit any of their expensive furniture down below and Sarah sat next to her window on the roof. "Yass John B." Sarah said as I did it. "Thank you, thank you." I said jokingly. As I bent down to pick up another, she whispered "And he's got a nice ass too." I rolled my eyes and sh could not stop laughing. Ward looked up at us and I felt the protective dick father "don't touch my daughter" stare sear through me. Ward started yelling into the phone and I asked Sarah why. "I told my dad about everything last night, and he called the police on him. He wanted him to get an actual punishment for once." Sarah said. "Sarah, we need to talk." Topper said suddenly, climbing out the window. "Topper, what the hell are you doing on my roof?" Sarah said scootching closer to me. I stood in front of her and Topper said "So you broke up with me for him?" Ward started looking up at us and Sarah started crying. "Topper no, I broke up with you because you're a jerk." "Well you know what Sarah," he said moving closer, "you are a whore. A complete whore." She started sobbing more and I got right in his face and said "Don't you dare to talk to her like that." He went to punch me and I punched him in the face, and right after he shoved me and I lost my balance. I faintly remembered plunging to the ground into a bush, feeling all of the branches scrape on me. I remember losing consciousness for a couple seconds, and then waking up again to see the sunset sky overhead and feeling an achy pain all over my body. I remember feeling someone pull me off the bush onto the ground, and feeling Sarah wrap her arms around my head. She leaned her forehead onto mine and kept kissing me whispering "John B stay with me." I faintly remember being halled away in an ambulance, and when I woke up again I was in a hospital bed. Sarah was holding my hand gently rubbing it and my other arm was in a cast. I groaned and said "Ouch." Sarah looked at me with her concerned stare, and she said "John B, I was so worried about you." I stared at my wrist and said "What happened?" "Topper pushed you off the roof, and you sprained your wrist." I was in some pain and Sarah noticed and said "I'm so sorry John B, but I'm not going anywhere." I smiled and said "I never thought dating a girl that I'd get this beat up," She giggled and said "I know, you've turned into my personal body guard from all these bad people. But this shouldn't happen anymore." "It's alright Sarah, you're worth it." I replied. She got up and gave me a kiss and the door opened and her dad walked in. "Oh, uh-" I started to say. "He knows." Sarah said quietly. "Hello John B, how are you feeling?" Ward asked. "Pretty shitty I gotta be honest." I said. He nodded and said "Well you didn't get hurt too bad for falling off a roof." I sighed and he said "I wanted to thank you for all the protection you've been giving Sarah lately. You seem to be a great ally to our family." He said, "And I'd like to give you a little bonus." "Oh Mr. Cameron you don't have to do that I'm just doing what is right." I said. "No John B, I insist. You can go get yourself a new surfboard or something." I smiled and said "Thank you that's very generous of you."
