Margaret tied the dress and arranged my hair Tudor style. She had brought a head piece that looked like it was made of gold.
"That's not actual gold is it?", I asked her,
"Of course it is my lady ! His majesty has it brought from the finest jewelers in the kingdom ! Wearing it will bring him so much pleasure !", she said enthusiastically.
Oh dear, pleasure was the last thing I wanted to induce in him. All I wanted was to scan this place up and make my way out of here.

I looked at myself in the mirror and fully took in what was happening.
'okay just relax Emma, no need to have an anxiety attack, this is going to be fine' I told myself.
It's just a regular day in the Tudor era, no biggie. This shit happens all the time and in just a few days I'll be able to go back home, to Caila and forget about all of this.

'What are you I saying ? How are we ever going to get out of this castle ? And no Emma, stuff like this definitely doesn't always happen !'

'What are you I saying ? How are we ever going to get out of this castle ? And no Emma, stuff like this definitely doesn't always happen !'

There were guards everywhere. And even so, what if I made it out of here ? How am I ever going to go back home ? I didn't even know how I got into this situation in the first place.
I turned around and saw Margaret staring at me. God she made me uneasy, she was glaring  at me as if she prepared me for slaughter. I felt so awkward that I decided to dismiss her and I then went to sit on the bed, trying to recollect my thoughts.

I needed to be smart here, upon my arrival, I had not made a lot of friends. First I had to avoid Cardinal Wolsey and his spies. I suppose that he had informants in every corner of the castle. Second, Anne Boleyn and her uncontrolable jealousy. If I remember my history lessons correctly, she is not someone that I could confide in. And last but not least, I must not trust anyone in this place. Everyone had a secret agenda back in the day, and anything could be held against me if it could ease them into the King's favors. So I had to avoid anyone who could bring me down, which meant the whole court.

"My lady Hastings, the feast is about to start !", called out Margaret.
"Yes, I'll come down this instant !", I answered.

Well that was it, I had to do this, there was no turning back. Here goes nothing !

I left the room and started to make my way through the different corridors, with Margaret leading the way.
"This is a small passage my lady but it will allow us to get to the main hall quicker", she said very enthusiastically.
Great, just show me the inner passages and secret corridors ! It's exactly what I need.
"Have you been here for long Margaret ?", I asked her trying to sound innocent.
"Oh yes quite my lady ! My mother was a Lady in waiting to her Majesty Queen Catherine for 10 years, before getting married to a page boy and leaving for the country. She then had me and sent me here to be brought up at court and asked Her Majesty for a position for me. I was eleven when I arrived here, and I've always enjoyed life at court, oh yes I do ! I find it very exciting. Mother even said that if I behave and be a good servant, I might become one of lady Anne's ladies-in-waiting once she becomes Queen !", she said before realizing what she had just blurted out.
