As I was standing next to the church's wall, looking for the guards that were here a few minutes ago. I was in shock and couldn't understand what was happening but one thing I was sure about so far was that I needed to leave the Tower immediately.
I started to slowly make my way out when the craziest thought came to my mind, if this is not a bomb alert then what is it ? How could everyone leave so quickly and why couldn't I hear the rumbling of the city ?
I started running, thinking that staying unseen was the safest option for me, at least until I figured out what the hell was happening. I progressively went down the main stairs and went towards the Bloody Tower, were the exit was. As I grew closer to it, I realised that everything around looked strangely unfamiliar.
I stopped and froze for a second. In front of me was a huge wall and no way to leave. The gigantic entrance that Henry and I came in through was gone. I started looking around me to see if there was any other way out but there were buildings and parts of the Tower that I hadn't noticed before, which made it hard to recognise where I was standing.
'How didn't I notice these buildings before ? They're huge !'
I was starting to be really scared, I couldn't make anything out and it triggered my anxiety. I was trying to calm myself and avoid having a panic attack when I looked up and all of sudden, it hit me like a ton of bricks. The new buildings were the least of my problems. From where I was standing, the Shard and the 30 St Mary Axe were nowhere to be seen.
I started going around in circles, trying not to panic, but everything looked different."Who are you ?!", yelled someone behind me.
'Shit, I've been seen!'
I started running away trying to escape from whoever was coming after me but I could hear them getting closer."By the grace of his Majesty, I order you to stop and submit yourself to his grace's power!", shouted another man.
'His majesty ? What does he mean His Majesty ?!'
I was running as fast as I could, but I was quickly caught up by the two men. One of them pinned me to the ground while the other pointed his spear at me.
"By his Majesty's command I order you to tell me who you are !", he yelled.
I was in shock, I didn't know what to respond. I was gasping for air and struggling to keep my face away from the cold pavement. The man pinning me to the ground was crushing my ribcage. I was hyperventilating and couldn't see anything anymore. I started to cry and panic filled my mind.
'What the heck is was happening !?'My first instinct was to defend myself and try to get this man off of me.
"What the hell ! Get this man off me !! Who do you think you are !? Ow ! Somebody heeeelp !", I shouted.
My mind was reeling, what could I do to get out of this crazy mess ?
At that very moment, I remembered something that Jacob Isaacs had told me from his unique course in psychology.
When in shock, the rational mind tries to take over and grasp on anything that could explain the situation that you find yourself in. Deny settles in as you try to find a logic explanation to what's happening.
