Alex P. Keaton sat in his small New York apartment one late night after work. He turned the tv onto the news station and sat down, leaning back into his couch. During a commercial, he jumped up to grab a soda. He looked out the small window to see the horrible rain storm. He crossed his fingers that the power wouldn't go out. Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door.

"Coming!" Exclaimed. He walked to the door and opened it, and was shocked to see who it revealed.

"Hi," a timid Ellen Reed said. She was soaking wet from head to toe, wearing a blue dress and a light jacket. She looked like she was freezing. Alex, who was still in shock, stuttered a bit at first.

"E-Ellen," he said. He gestured for her to come in and he closed the door behind her. He told her to sit down but she refused.

"No no no. I'm soaking wet I don't want to ruin your furniture," she said. Alex rolled his eyes.

"I got it all second hand from thrift stores. It doesn't matter," he said. She sat down and he offered her a drink, which she turned down.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have come," she said. "It's just that I was here and I didn't have anywhere to go and..." Alex cut her off.

"Hey hey hey Ellen. It's okay. It doesn't matter. I'm glad you came here," he said. He handed her a blanket and she gratefully took it, wrapping her body up tightly, but still shivering. Alex was hit with memories he didn't even know he had. Like how her hair curled up slightly when wet. Or how she smelled. Even how her eyes were never lifeless. "What are you doing in New York anyways?"

"I've been traveling. Trying to figure out my next move. I called your house one day, wondering what would happen. Jennifer picked up. She spilled her guts on where you were and what you were doing," she replied with a smile. Alex rolled his eyes playfully at his sister, but silently thanked her.

"So where have you been traveling?" He asked. She told him all about her travels.

"Alex?" She asked. He nodded from the other side of the couch, motioning for her to go on. "The entire time I was in Paris, and when I was traveling, I could never realize what was wrong. I just felt empty and confused and lost. I didn't realize until it was too late that it was you I was missing."

Alex was shocked. He had always missed her. Even when he was dating Lauren, something always felt off about it. He took her hands in his, moving his hands so she felt warmer. "I felt the same way Ellen. I was so confused without you. There was always a hole that nothing could fill." Ellen silently thanked God that she hadn't messed something up.

They both slowly moved in, and met in the middle. Their lips connected and it felt as if years of passion and love poured out. Alex removed his hands up and down Ellen's arms to warm her up further, and used one hand to tuck her hair behind her ears. They parted and he scooted closer to her, tossing his arm around her and pulling her into his side. They both felt warmer that night then they had in a long, long time.
