"Kelly why aren't you at school today?" Zack asked over the school phone.
"I'm pretty sure I have the flu," Kelly replied quietly.
"Oh gosh Kelly. Are you okay?" He asked her.
"Yeah," she replied. "Can you ask Jessie to pick up my work?"
"Of course. Feel better Kelly," he said. She thanked him and they hung up.
Kelly lay on her bed, shivering and wrapping a blanket tightly around herself when she heard a knock.
"Come in," she said, expecting one of her family members. Instead, it was Zack Morris carrying her schoolwork.
"Hey Kelly," he said in an upbeat tone. "I brought you your work."
"Thank you," she said. He gave her a pouty look.
"Sorry you aren't feeling to hot right now," he said.
"It's okay," she said as he sat down next to her. "Oh Zack I don't want to get you sick."
"I'll be fine. Beside, I brought you something else," he said, handing her a big pack of sour patch kids.
"Awww Zack," she said, happy that he remembered her favorite candy. "Thank you!"
"Anytime," he said. He looked at the clock and grimaced. "Gotta get home before dinner. I'll call you later."
"Sounds good," she said. He bent down and kissed her forehead, before maneuvering her blanket slightly and leaving.
