lol sorry i couldnt wait till january"Luke, you're partners with Calum," the teacher started, reading off the list. Calum immediatley got up and high'fived his blonde best friend, who was sitting across from him of course.
"Ashton, you'll be partners with Charlie." and Ashton nods, and Charlie goes red and giggles. They've liked eachother since second grade, but Charlie's mom won't let them do anything.
"Hailey M, you'll be partners with Julia," and the partnering list continued on and on until there were only two students left.
"And... let's see, who's left?" Michael, you'll be partners with Addie." and Mrs. Bryer goes to sit down at her desk to sort out her papers and do grading like other teachers.
I turn to look at the auburn haired girl who sat in front of me. She was already looking back at me, her hazel eyes boring into my green ones. She smiled a gap-toothed smile and I couldn't help but return one of my -most-likely-less-attractive-ones.
"My house or yours? My mom is making tacos tonight," Addie smiles again.
"My mom is making macaroni and cheese," I say, even though I didn't answer her question.
"I like mac n' cheese," Addie says slowly. I nod, shuffling my desk papers, and picking up my pencil to write down in my agenda that we will be working on the science project together.
"So," I look up at her, "it's all settled then, we'll be doing it at my house." I say with affirmative smile. I see Luke turn around and give me a thumbs-up.
"That sounds good."
"Wait, can you tell me what we're doing it on again? I wasn't listening,"
Addie shakes her head, but giggles behind her hand, and I find myself leaning my chin into one of my own hands with a tilted head as I stare at her dreamily. If this was a movie, everything around me would be blurry, and she would be all slow motion and pop music and gorgeousness.
"It's an art project, we have to try and do our best replica of Van Gogh," Addie says shyly. Maybe she noticed me staring.
"Okay, class! The bell has rung! Lunch time!"
I lok up at her and nod, "okay, so, my mom will call your mom?" I ask her.
"Yeah, that sounds cool," she mumbles as she writes down her mom's number, because we don't have phones yet. Mom said I could get one at Christmas, if I was good.
"Okay, so that's her number. I'll probably be over at, like, 5; after dinner. Bye Michael," Addie twirls her long hair and pushes up her glasses as she packs everything up into her bag and giggles as she rushes out.
I am so dazed watching her. I've never seen a girl so pretty. Has she been going to this school the whole time? Why didn't I notice her?
"B-bye Addie," I say hazily.
