"No, Luke, shh." I speak into the muffled speaker of the home phone.
"Yes, Luke, she is here. In fact, she's sitting two feet in front of me," I roll my eyes. He wouldn't shut up about Addie, and I felt a sudden fear creeping up my throat and chills running up and through my spine... What if he liked her? And what if she liked him? I would never stand a chance, not with his blue eyes and blonde hair and funny jokes. He was one of most popular boys in school, all because of his stupid Youtube account, Hemmo1996.
I mean, I don't hate Luke, surely there is strong disliking between the two of us, and we get in trouble for it all the time, but I think it's just the built-in conflict that comes with our friendship.
"Shut up, Luke," I groan, and I see Addie perk up and peer at the phone, almost as if she was trying to hear the tiny whispers that came out through the speaker of the phone.
"Yes, yeah, I'll tell her you said hi. Yes, yes, yes. God, Luke, Jesus, goodbye," I sigh and click the Hang Up button.
"I love you too, Lucas," I try to say as quiet as I can so that Addie can't hear, and as soon as I hang up the call I immediatley shout, "No homo!"
I hear Addie giggle, and my cheeks turn pink and my ears wiggle a little bit, something that only happens when I'm very embarrased.
"That was cute," she giggles again. I turn around so that she can't see me smile a bit.
"Luke says hi."
"Hello Luke," she says airily.
I sit down beside her on the floor, "Addie, you do realise we finished the project?"
She looks up me. "So?"
"So, why are you still here?" I immediatley close my mouth as soon as I realise what I've said.
"Oh... You don't want me here? I can leave," she starts to get up. I shoot up as well.
"No, no! That's not what I meant!" I try to explain myself but she's already gathered her stuff and ison her way to the door by the time I've formed a proper sentance in my mind.
"I thought you liked me Michael."
And the door slammed.
SUCH A FUCKING SHORT CHAPTER BUT IT WAS JUST A FILLER AND IO WANT TO GET TO THE V CUTE STUFF :-)
