Part 3 - The surprise

“Hello Juliana, I’m Mirajane. If you need anything just say it and I’ll help you out, right?” Mirajane introduced.

“Juliana has to meet Gray-sama too!” Juvia rushed to Juliana’s side. “Juliana, this is Gray-sama.”

We all looked at Juliana for an expression, but all she did was to whisper to Juvia. “Oh, Gray-sama you have to say hi,” Juvia said giggling.

“Eh, hey?” Juliana smiled: “Nice to meet you Gray.”

Lucy pushed Levy in front of Juliana: "I'm Levy, nice to meet you,"

"Nice to meet you too Levy"

Erza reaching out to handshake Juliana: “Hi, I’m Erza nice to meet you,” Gajeel whispered to Juliana which made her give Erza the handshake.

The next day the noise in the guild had come back. We sat at a table talking about jobs as Natsu and Gray got in a fight, pulling the whole guild into it as well. Juliana had a seat between Gajeel and Juvia, but as Gray began stripping in his fight with Natsu Juvia quickly disappeared to cheer on him.

Levy thought of the conversation between Gajeel and Juliana. He really seemed fond of her, maybe Lucy was right? Wait, didn’t Juvia promise to tell about their relationship today? The thought popped up in Levy’s head just as the fight got wilder.

Gajeel went to Mirajane - probably to get a drink to him and Juliana - when Natsu smashed a fist into Gray’s stomach causing him to fly across the room in Juliana’s direction. Juliana stood up only to lose her balance. Gray smashed into the table in front of Juliana, and she fell backwards along with the chairs.

Gajeel rushed to her side: “Damn it you idiots! Go some other place to fight!” Juliana didn’t seem hurt or anything, she just stayed at the ground looking straight down in the floor.

Juvia came over: "It's not Gray-samas fault Natsu punched him this way!" She helped Gray to his feet.

“She could just move!” Natsu gave again, but those words seemed to piss Gajeel off:

“No! No she couldn’t!”

Juliana cut him: “It’s alright Gajeel; I just didn’t sense the chair next to me. It’s my own fault.”

“Those idiots could take care instead!” Gajeel angrily stared at the two, but stopped as Juliana grabbed his leg with her hand:

 “Stop it Gajeel - they don’t know. I say: it’s al-right!” Juliana declared seeming angry herself.

It calmed Gajeel down and with him Levy. It would be bad if they started fighting because a new girl came by.

“Don’t know what?” Erza had heard the tumult and went to Gray’s side.

Gajeel helped Juliana to stand. She blushed and denied: “Ehm, i-it’s no-nothing.” This made Levy and Lucy curios too; what didn’t they know?

 “What is it?” Natsu asked curiously too.

Juliana starred on the ground and it was impossible to see her eyes. Her hair still covered her left eye as it did yesterday, but she made sure no one saw the other eye either.

 "I" she began: "It's a bit embarrassing, you know."

We all got closer to hear what she had to say.

 "You don't have to tell 'em," Gajeel started, but Juliana cut him off with a hand movement.

"I" she said slowly raising her head before us.

She opened the eye not covered by hair. It was deep green in the outside and kind of orange in the inner side, her eye color, but there was something wrong Levy thought to herself. It seemed like a thin white layer covered the eye causing the black part of the eye to look grayish.

 "I am blind" Juliana declared looking straight at the guild members with the blind eye.

-Juliana's POV-

I heard the sound. The sound that always came out the mouth of those who heard my secret. The sound of a shook. It came from the group of Gajeel's and Juvia's friends who surrounded her.

I heard Juvia's eyes being filled with tears. She wasn't in shook, I knew, she knew it already. But boy the many times she had happily forgotten causing her to shake her head, wave to me or other stuff only a seeing person would, well, see. She had probably happily forgotten again and was sorry. Or she was sad to hear it out loud, to hear me say those words, which she knew I hated... I was just glad I had her here.

I waited on the reaction of my confession. It had been a long time since I had told anyone. But some people could be so rude these days and you never knew how people would react to this kind of handicap. I had learned this the hard way. That's why I was glad to have Juvia and Gajeel here too. I knew they would protect me... If they hadn't changed over the years that was.

-End Juliana POV-

Lucy opened her mouth and closed it again. Levy took the initiative and spoke: "I'm so sorry to hear Juliana."

Juliana seemed to relax a bit by the voice of her: "It's okay Levy, thank you."

Levy's eyes grew bigger with surprise. "May I ask, how can you tell that's Levy?" Lucy asked.

Juliana lit up a bit more: "Of course I can! I'm blind, not deaf - your voices are thankfully not the same, which makes it easy to determine who is who." Silence fell upon the gathered group again, the guilds fight had stilled off too. 

Gray looked at Natsu: "Hey flame brain! Apologize for making her fall!"

"What Underwear prince?! You say sorry for flying bad!"

Erza punched them both in the head: "Both apologize. Now." She was being deathly serious and Natsu and Gray definitely didn't want a fight with her.

 "Sorry Juliana." they both mumbled.

"As I said it's alright," Juliana answered with a smile: "I'm a bit out of training myself."
