[who doesn't love free food?]

"Stealing drones makes me hungry," Kie commented as she jumped out of the passenger seat of John B's van. After their epic heist, The Pogues decided it was time to eat, and they knew exactly where to get free food: The Wreck.

"What I would do to a beer and shrimp and grits right now," JJ said, exiting the backseat. He then turned to hold his hand out for Duchess.

"It would not be pretty," Pope replied.

"Honestly, I'm totally missing bacon, egg, and cheeses right now," Duchess said, "But anything is better than nothing."

"Hey dad," Kie greeted when they walked through the door.

"Hey boss," Duchess added.

"Hey girls," Mr. C replied, smiling. Kie's father had a lot of respect for Duchess, despite being one of The Pogues. He always said it was because she was hard working and reliable, but Duchess knew the man was just happy that Kie had a girl friend.

"How'd we do," Kie asked, drumming her fingers on the bar.

"Didn't turn it over once," he replied, seeming upset.

"It's probably just bad luck because of the storm," Kie reasoned.

"Or the customers just missed my lovely face," Duchess added with a smile, trying to lighten the mood.

"Does that mean I need to put you on more shifts," Mr. C challenged.

"I'll take anything I can get, I need the money," was the brunette's reply. Kie's father looked at at her in a way that told Duchess that he definitely hadn't been expecting that answer.

"If something opens up, Duchess, it's yours." She threw him a thumbs up.

"Guess now is not the best time to ask for free food for me and my friends," Kie asked, embracing her dad.

Duchess had moved to stand with the boys in the back of the resturant, and she could see Kie's father shooting them a look. "Look at them," he said to his daughter, "They're greedy pelicans. I thought I told you to stop hanging around with them."

"You never told me to stop hanging around with Duchess. And JJ follows her around like a loyal golden retriever, so I have to be with him at some point. Plus, everybody at the Kook academy hates me, Dad."

"Cause you never gave them a chance."

"I did give them a chance," Kie challenged. Their conversation was getting more and more heated by every word. "They got all stuck up on me. They care more about shoes than surfing. What am I supposed to do with that?" Kie looked back at the four of them. "These are my friends."
