Charli's Birthday!

Charli's POV (ooh something new):

I wake up groggily and slowly sit up. I look around and notice none of the other girls are her. Then I remember;
Today's my 16th birthday!!!
But... no one's here to celebrate. 
I sigh and just get ready for the day, and then I head downstairs and see no one is here again. 
Oh. Ok then. 
That's when everyone pops out with a confetti cannon, popping theirs. 

"SURPRISE! HAPPY SWEET 16!" Everyone yells. I immediately start smiling widely as confetti falls all around me. Avani pulls out a huge, 3 tiered cake. 

"For... breakfast?!" I ask, hoping the answer is yes, I've always wanted that. 

"Yup!" Dixie says, coming over and hugging me. "Happy birthday sis!" She smiles at me and then everyone starts hugging me. I observe my surroundings and notice they're all wearing my exclusive merch. Mads turns on music and we all start dancing and eating. I look over and see Chase sitting and eating, what, his third slice of cake?, and staring right at Mads. I sigh and turn to my other side and see Tony dancing but not fully, just kind of moving, while also staring at Mads. 
How does she have this affect on boys?
How is she so perfect?
I snap out of my thoughts right on time to see Chase walking over to me. 

"Happy 16 Charli!" He says to me, smiling. 

"Thanks Chase!" I say, happy he came over to talk. 

"Look, I'm so sorry about w-" He starts but I sigh, cutting him off. 

"It's fine. I broke it off anyways, remember?" I say, wanting to just get passed this. 

"Right... anyways," He hands me a medium box. "Here is your birthday gift! I hope you like it!" With that, he walks away. I set it down, ready to open it later. Soon after, Mads comes over and sits with me, offering me a cup of orange juice, my favorite. I smile, taking it gratefully. 

"Hey girly! I can't believe you're 16 now!" She says, automatically cheering me up. She has that era around her, always making me happier when I'm closer to her. 

"Yeah! It seems like just yesterday I was 15! Oh wait... I was!" I say, laughing at my own dumb joke. Surprisingly, she laughs too. I love that about her, she appreciates my humor. We talk for a while and she tells me about how she was freaking out about being in Alex's vlog but he told her it wouldn't be up for 2 weeks and other random things until we pull Addi, Avani, and Dixie aside to take birthday pics for my instagram. We end up all looking bomb in my matching merch and by the time the whole thing is done it's already 4 pm. The girls decide to go out for dinner at 6:30 so we have some time. I decide to open all my presents so me and the girls all carry a pile of gifts up to Avani's room so we can all open them at the same time. By the time I've finished opening my presents, I have a Dunkin' Donuts coffee brewer, a Xbox, a Polaroid Camera, a bunch of gift cards, a desk organizer, a makeup organizer, 3 new pairs of sneakers, a new laptop, and a bunch of candy and gum. The only gift I haven't opened is Chase's. I go into the bathroom so I can open it in private. As I shut the door, I start opening the gift. I sit on the floor, my back against the wall, and see a box. 
More shoes maybe? 
I open the box and it's definitely not shoes. It's a sight that brings tears to my eyes. I start sorting around in the box. I see it all. The 3 hoodies, the 2 shirts, the phone case that I also have, all the bracelets, necklaces, rings, polaroid pictures, and at the very bottom I see a note. I start reading, tears in my eyes. 

Dear Charli,
Happy Sweet 16! So um... if you're reading this, you've already seen your gift. You might be confused, but allow me to explain. It's the gift of moving on, signifying the official end to our relationship so you don't have to keep wondering, worrying, about what we are. Charli, you are an amazing person and have come so far. I've made some huge mistakes and you will probably never forgive me, but I hope we can be friends despite that. You will always have a place in my heart, your smile will always keep me up at night, but I think we both know our relationship was toxic and unrealistic. We could've worked, but not at this time. It's been a great 4 months with you, possibly the greatest 4 months of my life, but I think it's now the end of what may have been the best thing to ever happen to me. Maybe in a year, I'll realize the mistake I made, but for now, I believe it's time to move on.

Chase

I sit there for a second and then realize I'm ugly crying.
Wow, what a great birthday present!
Note the sarcasm.
I clean myself up, washing my face and fixing my hair before leaving the bathroom. I slip the note into my pocket and stash the box into the closet. Everyone stares at me for a second and then continue to talk. 

"Hey girls, is it ok if I invite Madi? I haven't seen her in a while!" I say, hopefully they're all okay with it because I miss Madi. 

"Oh my gosh, yes!" Avani squeals. 

"Of course!" Addi says, smiling. 

"Why not?" Dixie says, shrugging. 

"I guess... but idek who that is...?" Mads says, confused. 

"Don't worry, you'll love her! I know it!" I state, beaming. She smiles back as I text Madi and with that we all finish getting ready.
Madi will definitely help me with Chase, I know she will.
