Back at the secret facility, Fury held up a picture of Pierce, looking at it. "This man declined the Nobel Peace Prize. He said, "Peace wasn't an achievement, it was a responsibility." See, it's stuff like this that gives me trust issues."

"I don't care about your trust issues." Azar spoke up which caused the Director to smirk slightly. "All I know is, we have to stop the launch."

"I don't think the Council's accepting my calls anymore." Fury replied and opened up a briefcase containing three chips inside.

"What's that?" Sam asked.

"Once the Helicarriers reach three thousand feet, they'll triangulate with Insight satellites becoming fully weaponized." Maria explained.

"We need to breach those carriers and replace their targeting blades with our own." Fury added.

"One or two won't cut it. We need to link all three carriers for this to work, because if even one of those ships remains operational a whole lot of people are gonna die." Maria said as she looked at the group.

"Yeah, I'm one of them." Azar muttered.

"We have to assume everyone aboard those carriers is HYDRA. We need to get pass them, insert the server blades, and maybe, just maybe, we can salvage what's left--" Fury continued to explain but was cut off by Steve.

"We're not salvaging anything. We're not just taking down the carriers, Nick, we're taking down SHIELD." The blonde said.

"SHIELD had nothing to do with it." Fury said.

"You gave me this mission, this is how it ends. SHIELD's been compromised, you said so yourself. HYDRA grew right under your nose and nobody noticed." Steve fired back.

"Why do you think we're meeting in this cave? I noticed." Fury replied, Maria and the rest of the group looking between the two men.

"And how many paid the price before you did?" Steve questioned.

Fury glanced around the room before he looked at both Azar and Steve. "Look, I didn't know about Barnes." He said.

"Even if you have, would you have told me? Or would you have compartmentalized that too? SHIELD, HYDRA, it all goes." Steve replied.

"I'm with Gramps on this one." Azar said as she took her feet off of the table. "He's right." She folded her arms.

Fury looked around the room, from them to Artemis, who remained silent for the whole conversation, before finally landing on Sam.

"Don't look at me. I do what he does, just slower." Sam responded with a slight shrug of his shoulders.

"Well.. Looks like you're giving the orders now, Captain." Fury stated as he looked up at Steve.

It was silent for a moment, everyone looking between the Director and the super soldier, before a badge was tossed on to the table.

Fury picked it up, just as Artemis left the room, revealing it to be her own badge.

Azar frowned slightly, looking at her sister's badge that was in Fury's hand before glancing to where she had just left.

Once everyone cleared out of the room, Azar stayed behind, sitting at the table as she stared off blankly

The couple lied contently in each other's arms; Bucky's arms wrapped securely around Azar's waist, keeping her body close to his while Azar traced patterns on his chest with her finger, her head rested on his shoulder.

She sighed in content and paused her tracing on his chest, turning her head and placing her chin on his shoulder as she stared at his perfect features.

His blue eyes soon locked on her brown, causing her to smile and let out a soft giggle. The sound of her laugh, caused a smile to appear on Bucky's face.

He stared at her, bringing up his flesh hand to stroke her cheek. "I've never felt this way before.." He said softly.

"Felt what?" Azar breathed out, staring into his eyes.

"This feeling.." He replied. "The urge to protect you, keep you safe.. The overwhelming need to make you happy just to see your beautiful smile.." He paused for a second.

"I know it's early but.. I-It feels so unreal.." Azar sat up slowly as she looked down at Bucky.

"And I know that, deep down, I don't deserve whatever this feeling is but-- "

The soldier was cut off by Azar capturing his lips with hers. Pulling away slightly, she looked at him, cupping his face between her hands.

"I love you too." She whispered.

A smiled appeared across Bucky's lips as he began showering kisses all over her face which caused Azar to giggle.

He tilted her chin up slightly before he kissed her passionately, pouring all the emotion he had into it.

A hand was placed on her shoulder, breaking Azar away from her thoughts. She wiped the tear that had slid down her cheek and turned to find her sister standing behind her.

"Are you okay?" Artemis asked softly.

"I'm fine." The younger twin replied quickly and took a moment to compose herself.

"You know he's going to be there." The eldest added.

"I know." Azar replied.

"Azar.." Artemis sighed softly as she sat down next to her sister. "I know how much you love him but whoever he used to be while you were with him compared to who he is now.." She paused, trying to choose her wording carefully. "I just don't think he's the kind you save. He's the kind you stop."

"I can't do that, Artemis. Deep down, I know I should but I just can't." Azar replied.

"He might not give you a choice. He doesn't remember you." Artemis frowned at her twin.

A determined look flashed in Azar's eyes as she nodded. "He will."
