• Chapter One •

Azar walked through the hallway of SHIELD alongside Artemis. The twins were headed towards the training room for their session.

All seemed normal until an explosion was heard, causing the building to shake and alarms to go off while debris fell everywhere

Azar shook her head with a soft groan while she got to her feet, trying to focus her vision only to see a masked man, decked in all black, step into the hallway alongside a couple of enemy agents.

He had shoulder length, brown hair, the most gorgeous blue eyes she'd ever seen but what really caught her attention was his metal arm which had a red star on it.

"HYDRA." Artemis breathed out, taking a protective stance in front of her sister.

The masked soldier focused his gaze on the twins, looking past the SHIELD agents who all had their guns aimed, ready to fire.

"Take one." A HYDRA agent spoke to the soldier who dropped a smoke bomb to the floor

Chaos unfolded, SHIELD agents firing at the HYDRA agents. Azar was frozen in her spot, her mind screaming at her to help fight but her body remained in place.

Through the thick haze of smoke, Artemis caught movement of a silver arm reaching out to grab hold of her frozen twin, causing her to push Azar out of the way and fight the HYDRA soldier.

Now the twins were exceptional fighters in combat but this soldier was highly skilled, probably surpassing both her and Azar's expertise in combat.

The Soldier flung Artemis off of his back and knocked the eldest brunette twin out cold before turning his gaze to the youngest twin, who finally gained control of her own body once more.

"Don't touch my sister!" She yelled and attacked the soldier.

The masked soldier dodged all of Azar's advances before he punched her, dazing her for a few seconds. And a few seconds was all that he needed.

He wrapped his metal hand around her neck in a tight grip, not enough to completely cut off her air flow and kill her but enough to knock her out.

She struggled against his steel grip as she was lifted off of the ground, moving to try and claw at his face with her nails but she eventually lost consciousness, falling limp within his grip.

He flung her over his shoulder while nodding at a HYDRA agent that he had secured the target.

The masked soldier threw down and flash grenade, temporarily blinding the SHIELD agents while he and the HYDRA agents made their escape with their unconscious captive.
