There Will Be Blood • Bucky Barnes

• Chapter Fifteen •

Back on the burning carrier, Azar had managed to lift the beam, just enough, for Bucky to slip out. Dropping the beam once he was out, the brunette looked at the soldier. "Bucky, you know me."

Once he got to his feet, Bucky lashed out on her. "No, I don't!" He yelled.

Azar slowly got up. "You do.." She said. "You remember, James. I know you do. Deep down, you remember." She continued.

"Shut up!" Bucky yelled as he punched her, Azar refusing to fight back.

Spitting out the blood that formed in her mouth, the brunette turned to the Winter Soldier again. "I'm not gonna fight you." She said softly.

This seemed to anger Bucky more as he grabbed Azar by the throat and pinned her down.

"I'm not going to fight the man I love.." Azar breathed out through the tight hold he had on her throat, which caused Bucky to frown slightly as he stared down at the brunette.

It seemed as if he was starting to remember something.

"I love you, James." Azar said softly causing Bucky to loosen his grip on her throat as a flood of emotions flashed through in his haunted blue eyes.

All of a sudden, the bottom of the Helicarrier gave way sending Azar down into the river below, along with debris, as Bucky grabbed onto a beam, watching her plummet down from above.

Azar hit the water, watching the different explosions of light coming from the burning Helicarrier above before her eyes drifted closed as she sank deeper and deeper under.

Bucky, who still hung on to the beam from the Helicarrier, looked down at the river below where Azar had disappeared under.

His breathing was shakey as a deep frown etched its way onto his face.

Before he could comprehend what he was doing, he had let go of the beam and dove into the waters below.

He saw Azar sinking as he swam down to reach her. He didn't know why he was doing this but deep down, he knew that he had to save her.

He pulled her unconscious body out of the water, lying her gently on the shore.

After making sure that she was breathing, his icy blue eyes gazed over her. He knew this woman that lied before him, she seemed so familiar.

He saw water trickle from her lips as she moved her head slightly.

She was slowly regaining consciousness meaning that he had to leave.

He wanted to stay, have her help him remember who he is, who she is, who they were but overall, just making sure that she was okay.

But he couldn't, as much as his heart was nagging at him to, he just couldn't.

Glancing over her features as if it was the last time he would see her, Bucky slowly and reluctantly turned around, walking towards the tree line and disappearing once again.
