29. I'm going to give you another birthday present

HARRY

~ Warning smut ahead ~

The morning of Louis's birthday, Harry woke up first. He had Louis in his arms, they had fallen asleep in the exact same position they had been sleeping for the last few nights, Harry with his back against the wall and Louis with his back against Harry's chest, while the older boy held him tight to avoid him falling off the bed.

Harry didn't move for a few minutes, he just stayed there enjoying the quiet moment, which was rare in this house. He buried his face in Louis neck and took in a deep breath taking in Louis, it was such a familiar smell after more than two years together that he felt at home everytime it filled his nose.

Louis stirred a little and Harry kissed his neck softly a couple of times.

"Mmmm" Louis hummed "Feels nice".

"Happy birthday baby" Harry whispered in Louis's ear.

"Thank you" Louis said groggily and tried to turn around to face Harry.

He somehow managed without falling off the bed, and he kissed Harry's lips lightly, and the older boy without thinking it twice kissed him back.

"How does it feel to be 21?" Harry asked when their lips separated.

"Same as being 20" Louis replied with a smile.

"Now you can drink in the States" Harry grinned.

"I'm not planning to go there soon, plus I can't drink, if you hadn't noticed" Louis stated.

Harry laughed lightly and pecked his lips once more before getting up from the bed, which was a difficult task. He went to the bag of clothes he had brought and took out a small, almost flat, paper wrapped box, which was Louis's present.

"Haz, we said no birthday or Christmas presents for each other" Louis said when Harry handed it to him "It's on the list".

"I didn't spend money on this Lou, I swear, so open it" Harry encouraged while he sat on the bed next to Louis who was now sitting.

"Okay" Louis agreed and tore the wrapping paper that was covering the box.

When Louis took the lid off there was a folded piece of paper in there.

"What is this?" Louis said taking the paper in his hands.

"Just read it" Harry smiled.

He unfolded it and Harry saw his eyes change from confusion to excitement.

"You got it?" Louis's eyes were shining.

"Yep" Harry replied feeling proud of himself.

A couple of days after Jason called, Harry had gone to the interview he had set up, but he hadn't heard back until a week later, which was the same day exams ended. That day he received an email saying he had gotten the internship and that it started the second week of January, but he decided to save the surprise for Lou's birthday.

"I'm so proud of you Hazza" Louis said while he hugged Harry "This is the best birthday gift you could have given me"

"I'm glad you liked it" Harry replied "The money isn't much, and I won't get my first paycheck until February, but in the interview they said that if they like how I work, it can get a real job when I graduate".

"You have no idea how relieved I am Haz, I've been so worried about money, and I didn't want to have to ask my mum or yours for more" Louis said and looked down at the paper again, which was the email Harry had printed "You've known about this since Friday! You're sneaky".
