[season one, episode five]

--

Although Rebekah eventually found out where Elijah was, none of them could actually retrieve him due to a spell Davina had placed on the attic he was in.

Elijah had informed Rebekah, though, that he would be awakened soon, and would get information out of Davina once he was.

His first question to Rebekah, though, was about Lily. He was worried what Klaus would do to her if he wasn't there to protect her, and wanted to make sure she was alright.

When Rebekah told Lily this, she immediately felt a wave of relief wash over her. She had been wary about Hayley's intentions, despite her efforts to not be jealous.

Meanwhile, Klaus had taken Sophie Devereaux as a hostage, bringing her back to the plantation for "questioning". Hayley had been taken by a couple of witches the day before, and Klaus was determined to know who was behind it, even if they had retrieved her safe and sound.

"We had a deal." Klaus spat out, tossing Sophie on the chair in the study, where Lily and Rebekah had been waiting for him to return home. "You protect my unborn child, I dismantle Marcel's army. And whilst I've been busy fulfilling my part of the bargain, you allowed Hayley to be attacked and almost killed by a gaggle of lunatic witches." He added, sitting on the chair across from Sophie.

"I had nothing to do with it, I swear. Hayley and I are linked, remember? She dies, I die." Sophie explained, begging with the vampires to believe what she was saying.

"Well, if you had nothing to do with it, then who were those witches?" Lily asked, crossing her arms as she looked at Sophie expectantly.

"They're a faction of extremists. Sabine stupidly told them about some vision she had about the baby." Sophie replied, causing Klaus to become slightly more intrigued with the conversation.

"What kind of vision?" Klaus asked, wondering what this had to do with his unborn child.

"She has them all the time, they're totally open to interpretation. I'm guessing she's wrong on this one." Sophie explained, not really wanting to tell Klaus what Sabine had actually seen.

"Well, how, may I ask, was this particular vision interpreted?" Klaus asked, leaning forward in his chair as he demanded an answer from Sophie.

"Pretty much that your baby would bring death to all witches." Sophie replied, causing Klaus to grin slightly.

"Ah, well, I grow fonder of this child by the second." Klaus stated, causing Lily to roll her eyes, even though she wasn't too fond of witches, either.

"Sophie, look, we promised Elijah that we would protect the Mikaelson miracle baby whilst he tries to win your witch Davina's loyalty. Why don't you tell me just how extreme this faction is?" Rebekah interrupted, causing Sophie to widen her eyes slightly.

"Elijah's talking to Davina?" Sophie asked, not believing the words that had left Rebekah's mouth moments earlier.

"Yeah, he is. Is there a problem with that?" Lily asked, her eyebrows furrowing slightly, wondering if there was something Sophie wasn't telling them.

"I'm guessing she'll have plenty to say about that crowd." Sophie replied simply, but it wasn't a satisfying enough answer for them.

"Do tell." Klaus stated, leaning back in his chair, prepared for Sophie to tell them what she had been hiding.

"I wasn't always an advocate for the witches. My sister was devoted, like our parents, and our upbringing was very strict, which drove me nuts. The minute I turned twenty one, I left the Quarter to travel, and play, but I wanted to be a chef, so I came back to Rousseau's." Sophie explained, sighing out softly as she spoke. "That's when my sister informed me the elders had decided to go through with the harvest." She added, causing them all to furrow their eyebrows in confusion.
