[season one, episode 9]

--

After they arrived home from the bayou, Klaus lashed out on Elijah and Rebekah, who had returned to New Orleans after hearing about Hayley disappearing.

It ended rather ugly, with Klaus leaving with Hayley to go to the compound. He left Elijah, Rebekah and Lily behind at the plantation, not wanting to deal with any of them.

Lily was more than happy to see Rebekah when they returned home, since she had missed the Original dearly. Rebekah would be lying if she said she hadn't missed her "sister", too.

Elijah and Rebekah had decided the next morning that they needed to check on Hayley, so Lily followed them to the compound where Klaus was keeping her.

When they got there, they immediately approached Hayley in the hallway, who looked shocked to see them all.

"Let's get you out of here. I can't imagine having to deal with Klaus alone." Lily stated truthfully, sighing as she looked at the werewolf.

"No, I'm fine, don't worry about me. It's the werewolves who need help." Hayley replied, glancing at all of them as she spoke. "He ordered a wolf hunt as some jacked-up peace offering to Marcel's crew. You have to help them." She explained, her tone firm.

"Out in the bayou?" Rebekah asked, her voice low so Klaus wouldn't overhear. "Do we look like a bloody vampire rescue squad? I think you should be grateful we came to save you." She added, her eyes slightly widened at the request.

"Listen, Rebekah, all my life I've wanted to know who my real family was and just as I find out that they're out there, in the bayou, Klaus orders them killed. Help my people, please." Hayley explained, pleading with the blonde in front of her.

That conversation led Elijah, Rebekah and Lily to the bayou to try and protect Hayley's pack.

When they arrived at the bayou, they looked around, watching as Marcel's vampires tore through the place, looking for the werewolves.

"Fan out, find them, and bring me some heads." Diego ordered, crouching down as he rifled through the items scattered on the ground.

"I'd rather you didn't." Elijah spoke up, standing beside Rebekah and Lily, who were both annoyed that they had been dragged along.

"What the hell are you doing out here?" Diego asked, sighing softly as he stood up to face them.

"I've come to suggest you seek other hunting grounds." Elijah replied, his hands in his pockets as he spoke to Diego.

"Suggestion noted." Diego stated simply, clearly not wanting to comply with Elijah.

"Well, Diego, it would be such a shame to have to rearrange that pretty face." Rebekah stated, approaching the vampire as she spoke. Rebekah wasn't lying, either, considering he was quite handsome. But, as she lifted her hand up to touch him, he quickly grabbed her wrist, stopping her.

"What the hell you care about wolves?" Diego asked, dropping Rebekah's wrist as he looked over at Elijah, who was amused at his actions.

"Generally, I don't. However, this particular clan is not to be touched. Goodbye." Elijah replied, walking towards Diego as Lily stood off to the side. She didn't want to get involved, considering she knew how violent Diego could be. She still wasn't completely trusting of her strength, since she hadn't had the chance to use it yet. She didn't really want Diego to be her first trial, either.
