[season one, episode eleven]

--

The next day, Elijah came to the realization that Davina had been sketching pictures of Celeste.

He was quite shaken up by it, but he didn't want Lily to know just how concerned he was. He remembered Celeste as being extremely powerful, and he was afraid to find out what the sketches meant. Hayley knew about Celeste, too, considering they had discussed his hallucinations after they had happened at the bayou.

"There's never been one all-powerful witch, until Davina." Elijah stated, glancing down at the drawings laid out in front of him. Lily sat down on the sofa, with Klaus and Hayley sitting across from her in the two chairs.

"Who is now tucked in, safe and sound down the hall under my protection." Klaus stated, glancing over the drawings. "Your Celeste was quite beautiful. And a portent of evil according to our volatile artist in residence." He added, sending a tight-lipped smile to Elijah.

"Yes, perhaps Davina's mistaken what she calls evil for power. Celeste was certainly very powerful in her day, but she's been dead for over two hundred years. I don't understand why all these sketches now." Elijah explained, sitting down next to Lily as he sighed out softly in frustration.

"Isn't it like, a witch thing to draw upon their ancestors for power? Maybe this was her way of doing that." Lily suggested, putting her hand on Elijah's arm gently to reassure him. She could tell he was stressed out, no matter how hard he tried to hide it from her. Lily didn't want him to worry about Celeste, but she knew the witch had been a large part of his life.

"Why does any witch do anything?" Klaus asked, leaning back into his chair as he thought about the drawings.

Not too long after, they heard a crash come from down the hall, where Davina and Marcel were talking.

"Well, that's going well." Klaus commented, sighing as he threw his hand up in the air, frustrated with the young witch.

"If you're trying to win the girl's trust, perhaps poisoning her one true love was not the most splendid idea." Elijah replied, thinking back to the events that had happened the previous day. Klaus had poisoned Davina's friend, Tim, while attempting to poison Davina in the process to "teach her a lesson". No one was happy with this choice, considering he hadn't told any of them, not even Marcel.

"Oh. Are there any more inopportune deaths you'd like to wave in my face?" Klaus asked, raising his eyebrows slightly at his older brother.

"Give me a month. I'll get you a list." Elijah replied, his lips curling up slightly in a playful manner. They heard another crash a few seconds later, causing Klaus to sigh out again.

"Young, old, dead, or alive, witches are a pain in the ass." Klaus stated, narrowing his eyes slightly as he spoke about Davina, before standing up. He sent them a small smile before leaving the room to go check on Davina.

A few minutes later, the room began to shake, causing Hayley, Elijah and Lily to look around in confusion. It felt like an Earthquake, but if it was, it was a rather large one.

The three of them immediately stood up, wondering what was causing it. Elijah led Lily out of the room with Hayley quickly following behind to see what was going on.

When they got out into the main area of the compound, everyone's confusion matched theirs.

"What the bloody hell is going on?" Rebekah asked, looking up at them from the bottom floor as the shaking subsided.
