[season one, episode seven]
--
They found out that Hayley had gone missing, taken by someone they assumed to be Marcel, considering Klaus had found out he had made a visit to the plantation.
Rebekah had left town, which disappointed all of them, especially Lily. She was growing a strong friendship with her, and she felt like she had close to zero friends in New Orleans now that she was gone.
The three of them decided to confront Marcel, despite Elijah's protests about Lily coming with them. Despite her now being a vampire, he was still cautious about her safety. But, he knew how stubborn she could be, so he gave into her pleas and allowed her to join him and Klaus.
"Not the most attractive community, are they?" Elijah retorted, sitting next to Klaus and Lily in the compound as Marcel walked into the room with his minions.
"You do realize they can hear you." Klaus replied, looking over at his brother with raised eyebrows.
"You do realize I don't care." Elijah replied, a small smirk on his face as he glanced over at Klaus.
"You know, Elijah, I liked you better in that box. But Klaus, my sire, you I owe the world, and I always show respect to my elders." Marcel grinned slightly as he approached the table, glancing at Lily as he spoke. "Didn't listen to my warnings, did you, sweetheart?" He asked, causing Elijah to furrow his eyebrows in confusion as to what he meant.
"You act like I'm stupid, you know that?" Lily retorted, crossing her arms as she looked over at Marcel. She wasn't afraid of him, even if he thought he was "king".
"Look, if your special lady friend is missing, Klaus, you can benefit from the help of a witch." Marcel spoke, changing the subject as he turned to Klaus. "And since I control all the witches in this town, I'll grant you one little locator spell. Sabine's the best guide in the Quarter. You need to find someone, I guarantee she's your girl." He explained, glancing over at the witch next to him, who was clearly there against her will.
"Where are you going?" Klaus asked, watching as Marcel began to walk away.
"I hate to cut this short, but the sun is coming up soon." Marcel replied, turning around to meet Klaus' gaze. "My nightwalkers need to get inside, and I've got a city to run. I'll leave you to track down your lost sheep." He added, before walking away and leaving them alone with Sabine.
"Can you find her?" Elijah asked, wary of Sabine's abilities.
"I can try." Sabine replied, shaking her head slightly as she looked down at Elijah.
Sabine used Klaus' blood to locate Hayley, considering he shared blood with the baby inside of her. She quickly figured out that Hayley was located deep in the bayou, near the werewolf camps.
The three of them set off to find her, driving to the bayou in order to do so. Once they got there, they all got out of the car, walking into the woods to search for her.
"We should head South towards the water." Elijah suggested, looking around as he realized just how much forest surrounded them.
"You seem quite determined to find the little wolf." Klaus pointed out, trailing behind Elijah and Lily as he spoke. Lily bit her lower lip slightly at his words, but Elijah wouldn't let those thoughts drift into her mind again, not if he could help it.
"If I'm moving too fast for you, Niklaus, you're welcome to wait in the car." Elijah replied, walking beside Lily. "Do be certain to leave the windows down." He added, causing Klaus to become even more annoyed with him.
