warnings: swearing, mentions of alcohol and sex

"Julianna this is ridiculous," Margaret sighed, walking into Juliannas room. "The fact that you've missed four conference calls in the last week. I thought we agreed that as long as you're here you'll keep up on this stuff?"

Julianna rolled over, rubbing her forehead. She had a major headache that could only be blamed on the whisky. She groaned, covering her head with her pillow. "I'm so not in the mood today."

"What's this about?" She demanded, tugging the pillow off of her. "What's going on?"

"I have a hangover," Julianna grunted, rolling over to look at her. The way her vision blurred a little around the edges had her thinking maybe she wasn't all that sober.

"Have you been hanging out with that Niall bloke?" Margaret asked. "I saw your Instagram. What's going on?"

"Nothing," she sighed. "We're friends. We hang out sometimes."

"Sometimes?" Margaret asked, eyebrows narrowed. "As your publisher I need to know these things. Anything that could affect your book release I need to know."

"You'll know when there's something to tell," Julianna chuckled, pulling the blankets up to her chin.

"Do you have a crush on him? Like a real Julianna sized crush?" Margaret asked, a knowing look in her eye.

Julianna laughed, shaking her head. "You do not need to know that."

"Considering you came out here to isolate," Margaret laughed. "I'd reckon having a crush all but throws that out the window. Especially your crushes. They're all consuming."

"Okay fine," Julianna sighed. "I do. But I have my isolation slash longing poems. Enough for a book. I just want to see what happens these next couple months."

"Oh Jesus fuck," Margaret muttered. "God damnit Anna. Every time you get a crush the whole entire book is changed. It's not happening this time. Do you hear me?"

"Yes," Julianna laughed, rolling onto her back. She sighed again. "Do you want to hear about him?"

Margaret let out a tiny groan, laying down on the bed beside her. "Okay. Sure."

"I don't even know how to describe him," Julianna breathed out, eyes focused on the crack in the ceiling. "He's got this smile. Like not his normal smile but when he says soft things he's got this soft smile. And I nearly burst. And he's got a crush on me too. Did ya know that?"

"I didn't," Margaret laughed. "Good t'know. It's mutual, then?"

"Definitely," Julianna nodded. "He says he's never had a crush before. It was absurd. Now he's getting the full crush experience because I am obviously irresistible."

"This has trouble written all over it," Margaret chuckled. "It's going down in flames. I can feel it."

"All the best ones do," Julianna shrugged.

"I don't want you to get hurt," Margaret added softly, looking over at her. "You say he's nice and kind and all those nice things but you never know someone's true intentions."

"I know," Julianna nodded. "I'm careful. I promise. I know what I'm doing, too. Crushes are my specialty."

Margaret sighed, sitting up. "Okay. I have to go."

"So soon?" Julianna asked, reaching out for her hand.

Margaret squeezed her hand, chuckling. "Yes. I have to go. I hate how clingy you get when you're hung over. I have meetings scheduled for this afternoon."
