Werewolves are a primitive species dating back to the ancient times when Vampires existed. They've all someway or another-because they're already dead-died out. Maybe they all were stabbed through the heart with a stake, but whatever happened to them, they all died out. Werewolves, on the other hand, have not died out. They were smarter and they survived whatever it was that killed off the vampires.
Werewolves are run with a hierarchical standing. The Alphas and Lunas rule over the pack-they're the pack leaders-They make the hard decisions and they dictate how things are going to go in the pack. Then there are the Betas and Beta Females. They are the Alpha's second in command. They do what it is that the Alpha doesn't want to do and they hold the same importance in the pack as the Alphas. The third tier is the normal pack wolves and the final tier is the Omegas. The Omegas take care of the pack. They mow the lawn, cook the food, clean the houses, and do the repairs.
The Moonlight pack is run by the Nicks lineage. Though that will change because Stephanie Nicks, Stevie, is the newest Alpha-female or Luna-As she prefers-of the pack when she marries and mates with her predetermined soul-mate, her last name will change. The Moonlight Pack is a relatively new pack throughout the ranks. AJ Nicks, the first Alpha created the pack with what he called the "misfits" that had been asked to leave other packs for various reasons. None that were ever really revealed but he grew it to approximately 250 werewolves making it the biggest pack. He met his mate at 20 put they didn't have any children until AJ was in his 30s, 35 to be exact, and then Jess Nicks was born. He had two brothers but because Jess was the oldest, he took over when he turned 20. His first child Stephanie was born much like he was when he was 35. Alpha-Females weren't uncommon, but they were always the easiest to pick out because their fur, even though they come from two normal grey wolves is pure white. But when Stevie first shifted-Werewolves are born with the ability and even some women prefer to birth their pups in wolf form, because they're smaller-she was five and someone was getting too close to her baby brother for comfort and the first thing that Jess noticed about his little girl was that she had black hair in the shape of a crescent moon under her left eye. But he doesn't ask questions about it.
Stevie took hold of the pack five years ago. She was twenty, like every wolf that becomes Alpha and she's hoping that she meets her mate soon, preferably her mate will turn out to be Don Henley, the man she's been sleeping with on and off with for about seven years. The worry of mating never presents because non-mates can have sex all they want but the female's body knows not to release an egg and it knows not to accept the sperm of a male if it's not their mate. Something to deal with the wolf knowing who her mate is and wanting to mate with her mate.
The Buckinghams joined the pack when Ruth was expecting their first child Jeff. She had been a rogue wolf, a wolf without a pack-rogue's aren't bad wolves it's just that they prefer to be alone and they make it work-Ruth was born as a Rogue and she never liked that life so when she found her mate Morris, she jumped at the opportunity to join an actual pack. But the Buckingham's previous pack was not to found of the Rogue young woman and they would pick on her constantly. It was also odd that she was eighteen when they mated and he was 36. Upon joining the Moonlight Pack, Jess gave them the option of transferring only if they'd work as the Omega status. At first, Morris was skeptical because he had been a prominent warrior wolf in the pack and was now being sentenced to a life mowing lawns and making repairs but he knew that Ruth would better fair if he went so he did.
Ruth and Morris had three children. Jeff the oldest who mated with a woman named Marren and rose through the rank to become a normal wolf. Greg mated with another Omega named Eliza and Lindsey the youngest, who's 24 now has not found his mate yet. With Morris' recent passing Lindsey had to take on doing more of the chores around the house. Originally it was just painting of houses, now he has to take on landscaping while Greg does the repairs. Lindsey's different though. While most of the Omega wolves are tiny in stature and very thin and lengthy as a human Lindsey's not. He is tall and clumsily lengthy but his wolf is a strong sturdy, bigger black wolf with white fur under his right eye created a son. The thing about Omegas is that they can't train with the other wolves and they aren't allowed to shift unless prompted so no one has seen his Alphaesque wolf.
