Stevie was sad sitting in her office with John, Christine, and Lindsey. She was sad because he took the kids. She doesn't know where exactly it is that he's staying and he won't tell her but what she does know is that he took the kids and that caused her to go through a lot of emotions. The first, sadness because she misses her girls. She misses dressing them up and making food with them and she misses playing with them. She misses the morning hassle of trying to get her almost two years old and her almost seven-year-old to their respective daytime carers. The second is anger because you don't dare take a pup away from her mother and here he was taking two from her. But the third is unsettled. She doesn't like not knowing where her little family is and she's freaking out because she's pregnant with twins for a second time and the first time she was pregnant with twins it didn't end well.
"Stevie." John takes her out of her thoughts.
"Oh I'm sorry...my head is somewhere else right now...I guess you guys can be the first to know...Lindsey and I are having another set of twins." She tells them.
"Stevie that's wonderful...how is it going." Christine gives a sad worried look.
"Well all three of us are healthy. We haven't told the girls yet. Not that Ginger will know much about a little sister but you know." Stevie states.
"That's good. It's good that all three of you are okay. I felt absolutely horrible for what happened with Eli." Christine pats her hand.
"Yeah, I'm hoping we avoid that this time...I don't think I'd survive losing another one of my children."Stevie gives a sad smile.
"So do you know the genders?" John asks.
"Well...Baby A's wolf is Cassie." Stevie grins.
"And Baby B's wolf is Cameron." Lindsey chimes.
"Cameron can be a boy or a girl..." Christine pouts.
"Exactly...but I'm not going to tell you which one." Lindsey wiggles his eyebrows.
"As much as I'm thrilled for you all we do have some other stuff we need to be discussing." John jumps in.
"Oh, right...um, Tom's pack wants to merge with ours. We'd keep the name Moonlight, I'd still be Alpha and John, you would still be Beta. Tom and Mike have agreed to step down from their positions...This...this is the blueprint of the pack land we're going to have to go to the werewolf council to try to obtain more pack territory but it's just a rough sketch." Stevie explains grabbing out her blueprints.
"Well, what if Christine and I told you that we'd like to step down." John looks at her.
"What do you mean, you want to step down?" Stevie asks.
"Well...We'd like to start trying for a pup and we've decided that when the time comes we don't want to have to worry about pack business and raising our kids. You two are great at it, but we just don't want to do it." Christine bites her lip.
"As sad as that makes me, I'm happy for you," Stevie nods before turning to Lindsey. " Honey, so what do you think about Tom becoming the Beta then?"
"Fine...whatever. I'm not the Alpha I don't have a say you can do what you want." Lindsey stands up and pushes his way out of the office.
"What's that about?" John asks after the door slams and Stevie's head looks down at her lap.
"Something stupid I said." She sighs.
"Uh-oh, care to elaborate. We're not just your Beta's we're your friends." Christine maneuvers to take Lindsey's seat and starts rubbing her back.
"Well I've...I've had one problem with one member of Tom's pack. Her name is Kristen Messner and she...well she's been a little to close to Lindsey for my comfort. She's only eighteen and her mate died in a fire and part of me thinks she's like going to kill me so she can nab Lindsey as her sub mate. She's placed her grubby paws on my babies and she's always around Lindsey trying to get him alone and I hate it and I've told him that. But he claims that he's just trying to be her friend and that he's trying to be a good Alpha and I said that he's not the Alpha. I am. He's just my mate and now for the past two days he's been sleeping god knows where and he took my kids and it sucks." She cries.
"Honey, don't you think you're being unreasonable. He probably is just trying to be nice. I don't see him purposely hanging out with her to make you angry. I don't think he has any intention of cheating on you." Christine tells her.
"But I can't help it, it's in my nature he's mine and they're mine." She sobs.
"I think he's getting the impression that you don't trust him." John states.
"Well, I kind of don't..." Stevie sniffles.
'You don't trust your mate?" Christine gasps.
"Well like...I trust him with my life and the girls' lives and I trust him to run the pack but what he did with Carol and then the fact that he didn't tell me that our son died while I was carrying him and I had to unknowingly birth a dead baby body is always playing in the back of my mind." Stevie explains.
"Stevie that was six years ago and I know for a fact that he still hates himself for not telling you," John informs her.
"I guess I just can't understand why." She cries.
"No one does, but at the end of the day he's your mate and you guys are forever going to be tied to each other. And you BOTH need to apologize for things you did because in the beginning Stevie, you weren't too nice either. You slept with Don right under his nose. You tried to hide him from the pack because you refused to mate. There's a lot that you two need to work out and if Kristen is what's making you see that-well then good for her." Christine shrugs.
"I guess you're right." She sniffles wiping under her eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm such a hormonal mess right now everything coursing through my body is doubled...tripled...I don't know something like that."
"It's okay to cry every once in a while." Christine hugs her.
