Lindsey waited patiently until the footsteps leading away from Stevie's office faded.
"Lindsey, we are mates. But we are not mates." Stevie shakes her head.
"What does that mean?" Lindsey questions.
"It means, we are mates. We are perfect for each other. We have a connection and it means that through mind link, I can talk to you no matter where you are unlike the rest of the pack where I have to be within six feet of them. I will consult you secretly on pack business because frankly. I hate being the Alpha, but we will NOT mate. You will NOT mark me, you will NOT help me through heat...god, I am not looking forward to heat. Most importantly we are not having children. Do I make myself clear?" Stevie states.
"But I..." He starts.
"You are an Omega. You stay an omega." Stevie states.
"I wanted a pup though." He looks down at his hands.
"Well, you aren't getting one from me. Now, tomorrow you will come to my house for Sunday dinner and you will meet my family. Well, get to know my family. I expect you to bring yours too. I know they're Omegas but I'll give them a pass for tomorrow. Now, please get out of my office." Stevie sighs.
"Um, yeah sure." Lindsey clears his throat and stands up pushing his chair in.
"Lindsey, you're my mate. You might as well kiss me, but no affection in public." She stands up as well.
Lindsey awkwardly walked around her desk and swooped down to kiss her. Instinctively Stevie wrapped her arms around his neck and stood up into the kiss. What neither of them expected was for the butterflies to flair up in their stomachs and the sparks to shoot through their bodies. When the pair pulled away Stevie's hands involuntarily fell to her lips and they locked eyes. But they were startled when a knock came at the door.
"Luna, the new pack doctor and his family are here to meet with you...Omega Buckingham" Mick pops his head in.
"Wonderful send them in. Lindsey would you excuse me please?" Stevie questions.
"Yes, Luna." He clears his throat and quickly exits her office.
As he was walking down the hall, he smiled at the new pack doctor and his wife, and then he made eye contact with a blonde woman about his age.
"Hi, I'm Carol Ann Harris. Ann's part of my first name but it's also my wolves name." She stops him and holds her hand out.
"I'm Lindsey Buckingham. I'm one of the Omegas around here so I...well, I don't really expect you to be nice to me. I guess since you told me your wolf is named Ann, my wolf is named Adams." He tells her.
"I"m never not nice. Omegas are wolves too. What makes you think that I wouldn't be nice to you?" She asks.
"It's just a thing around here, the only people that are nice to the Omegas is the Alpha and her family. It's a jerk reaction. I don't have very many friends and I kind of keep to myself." He gives her a sad smile.
"Well, I'll be your friend." She squeezes his bicep and then follows her family into the office.

Stevie isn't impressed that the doctor's young daughter walks in late to the meeting, but she lets it slide until she shakes her hand and smells it.
"Why does she smell like Adams?" Lily asks.
"You mean Lindsey. Why does she smell like Lindsey." Stevie says.
"They're the same person. I don't like that she smells like Lindsey." Lily states.
