FUTURE ME HERE WITH A FAIR WARNING: This was my first ever book/series and, as such, it took me a bit to get my bearings and figure out my style of writing. Because of this, the first few books and the prequel might seem a little incoherent or sloppily written but it gets a lot better by Book 3/"Fear Her." Anyway, please enjoy and please don't cringe too hard!
ACTUAL OC INFO BEGINS HERE:
You already know her name and who her husband is so here's some other things.
She's best friends with Detective Alvin Olinsky, and Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt.
She is close friends with Detective Antonio Dawson (Who considers her his best friend), his sister, Gabriella Dawson, and Battalion Chief Wallace Boden.
Kelly Severide and Matt Casey are like sons to her.
Her sister is Olivia Benson (Law & Order: SVU both shows crossover every now and then, at least in the earlier seasons of PD) Ana works on and off in New York with her and the rest of the Manhattan SVU Squad.
Her hair is short, wavey, and brown, like Olivia's, and she has hazel eyes.
She is a mother figure to Detective Erin Lindsay and is Justin Voight's biological mother.
She has a tendency to give nicknames to those she cares about if they don't already have one that she likes:
Calls Antonio "Tony"
Is the only person allowed to call Hank by his birth name, "Henry" Hank is also the only person allowed to call Ana "Princess"
Is the only person allowed to Call Chief Boden "Wally"
Is the only person allowed to call Alvin "Oli"
Is the only person allowed to call Jay Halstead "Bluejay"
Calls Olivia "Liv"
Calls Odafin "Fin"
Calls Hermann "Chris"
Other than Matt Casey, she is the only person allowed to call Kelly "Sev"
Was the one to give Mouch and Otis their nicknames.
She doesn't really have nicknames for Erin, Trudy (though she does take to calling her "Hun" every now and then), Adam Ruzek, Joe, Matt, Kim Burgess or Kevin Atwater (Who she takes to calling "Kev" every now and then).
I'm not going to out right explain her dark past as I want to gradually get into it as the story progresses. But she does have some medical issues because of it:
She can't have any more kids. Justin and the still born twin were miracles in themselves.
As a note, she's always bruised fast and easily.
Her past has left her with a right hand covered in burns that stays in a special brace most of the time. As well as her left arm which is non existent. She has a robotic arm that is the only one of it's kind. It's attached to the nerves in her arm and works like an actual arm and hand. (Let's go with she wanted to try it out cause she still wanted to be able to be a cop and a firefighter and was able to get the only working one as the people who made it were not able to recreate it again for some reason. XD) Pertaining to this I would like to mention that her ring is not visible but she wears it underneath the black leather glove she always wears over her robotic hand.
She has asthma that has been exacerbated over a long period of sustaining different respiratory related injuries. To limit her use of albuterol in any capacity, she smokes a special type of herbal/flower cigarette and it actually tends to calm her down more than an inhaler would anyway.
But despite all this she persevered through and manages to keep being a firefighter and cop. And she wouldn't have it any other way. All of her issues along with her fragility (mental and physical) are why the team is protective of her. Some might say over protective but she doesn't give a damn.
And without further ado, enjoy the story.
