Chapter 10 - Reasons Why I Love You So Much.

"I love you. I have loved you from a long time, Mew."

"...what on earth... what did you say?"

"Do you remember when you were a kid, you save an injured cat?"

"What??"

"Sometimes, with God's order, we fairies could go to earth to spread joy and happiness. But when we're on earth, we prefer to show ourself as a cat. Don't you remember when you were 5, you saved an injured cat's live in the middle of the road? I was waiting for someone to save me that day but many people passed and there's no one who seems to recognized me. But then a small boy with frizzy hair come closer to take a look at me and he ended up saving my life."

"It was... me?"

"Yes. Since then, I have always been watching you from heaven. I fallen in love with you more and more everyday. I watched how you grew up singing and playing guitar all the time, I witnessed how you grew up wanting to become a famous singer, even you parent supported you, and I always loved it when you sing so happily. I saw how you took care of you little sister with all of your heart. I saw how you were bullied but still act nice to your friends. I saw how you still want to lend your notes to those who bullied you, and I saw how you bought lunch for your friend who forget to bring their money to school... and... I saw how much you suffer when both of your parents died..."

"..."

"Yeah. I have loved you for so long. So when you got the statue, and God was about to send you a fairy to help, I was so happy and I volunteered myself to help you. Because I want to stay by your side forever. Because... I love you..."

"..."

"Every fairy has one elephant statue, if we found someone we like, we will give the statue to that person and they can ask anything to God with that statue. The cat you saved near the convenient store was a fairy too just like I am."

Mew is still processing every information he just heard. He couldn't believe it, but he has no choice but to believe it.

"I..."

"If you're going to reject me don't even bother doing it. I'm here to help you, not to make you fall in love with me back."

"Gulf..."

"Hmm?"

"You suddenly sounds like a wise man it's kinda weird, it doesn't sound like you at all."

Today is saturday. Mew doesn't have any classes at all so it's his time to work on his thesis in the hospital. Every saturday, Mew would spend his whole day in the hospital to accompany and to take care of his comatose little sister. As usual, Gulf would tag along wherever Mew goes, so today he's also following Mew to the hospital.

Mew open the door that leads him to his sister's room. Once he see his sister's face is, his wide smile can be seen. This is one of the reasons why Gulf loves Mew so much. As a big brother, he takes a very good care of his family especially his little sister.

"Jomkwan! I miss you so much!"

This side of Mew is the side of him that Gulf loves so much, but it's rare to appear. It's his brotherly side, where he always talks sweetly and lovingly towards his little sister. No awkwardness, no coldness, always filled with cheerfulness. But despite of that, Gulf still loves Mew no matter how he act and behaves.

When will he act like that towards me?

Gulf's complaining even when Mew himself is already acting different towards him than to his other college friends. Mew is basically a good guy, so he is always kind towards people, even towards those who bullied him. But the way Mew treat Gulf is just special. He cares and his heart is always soft when it comes to the fairy's needs.

Gulf never realized this but it's quite hard to gain Mew's trust. Even his crush, Eye, can't gain his trust to join the band. But he trust the fairy with all of his heart. To be honest, if Mew doesn't believe him then he's probably already got kicked out from Mew's house a long time ago.

"I bring oranges, Jom! I thought you might wake up today so I bring fruit that you like the most just in case!"

Mew sit on a chair right next the patient bed. He hold his sister's hand and both of his thumb caresses it.

"Wake up soon, okay?"

He feels like someone just rubbed his eyes with onions, it feels so sore that he started to have teary eyes.

Gulf who sees that stand up instantly and almost walks towards Mew when suddenly Mew also stand up from his chair and say, "I'm going for awhile."

Gulf hates it so much. That expression Mew just made. It hurt his heart so much. He hate it. He hate whoever caused Mew to make that kind of face. Gulf doesn't like it. He feels like crying too seeing Mew cry.

No! I'm not gonna let him cry!

So Gulf step out from the room, searching for Mew.

He then found Mew sitting down hugging his knee on the floor between the wall and a vending machine. The place is vacant right now so he choose to hide himself there. It's quite dark there since no one really goes to that particular spot.

"Mew!" Gulf run as fast as he can the moment he see how broken Mew is. His tears can's stop flowing. It's like someone cut open his bag of tears so there's nothing he can do to stop it flowing.

The fairy's hands are now stretched out to hug the broken boy. Gulf know exactly how painful it is for Mew to see his sister in that state. Lying down, sleeping for a long time, can't do anything but close her eyes and not moving at all. The pretty and smart sister who should be studying and enjoying her life instead of just lying down on the hospital bed.

"... Gulf... you're a fairy aren't you..."

???

"Can't you wake her up, please?? Tell her to wake up now, please??? I miss her so much it hurts."

But Gulf couldn't do anything. Not only the matter of waking up his sister, but he can't do anything to make Mew feeling better.

"I'm sorry..."

"Please... Wake up, please..."

There's nothing Gulf could do. There's nothing, except than hug him and crying together with him.
