"i could have done much better." jj said, "i took a welding class."

"you're not the one that has to pawn this piece of shit off." maya said, holding the bar of gold. "how the hell did i get stuck with this job?"

"you have pink hair, tattoos, look intimidating and people are more inclined to do things for pretty girls." kei said. "just go."

everyone else followed maya into the shop, then disbursing around the store.

"i see that you buy gold." maya said.

"well, i sure hope you buy a lot of it, because i'm about to blow your mind." maya said, sitting jj's backpack on the counter.

she sat the gold on the counter, "how about that?"

the woman shook her head, "that ain't real."

"feel how heavy it is... mhmm." maya said and the woman picked it up, taken back by how heavy it actually was. "let's get some light on that."

"not at all." maya said before she did the test. "wow, would you look at that."

the woman put a drop of acid onto it, "well, it ain't plated, and it ain't painted."

"it looks like somebody tried to melt it down."
