john b walked through his house, seeing the familiar maya and jj sleeping on his futon.

"yo, guys, you been outside?" john b said, slapping maya's calf since she was the closest to him.

"don't touch me." maya snapped, turning her head over to look at john b.

"i have polio, bro. i cant walk." jj muttered into the pillow.

john b didn't say anything else, just walked outside.

maya turned her head back over to look at jj, "you gonna get up?"

jj opened his eyes and looked over at maya, "only for you."

maya smiled and bit her lip teasingly, pushing herself off the pull out couch. she grabbed her shirt and pulled it over her head, taking it off last night after getting too hot. she couldn't care less if the boys saw her in her undergarments, or if she was in a bed half naked with an also half naked jj. they had all seen her thousands of times in bikinis.

anyone that met jj and maya would definitely think the two were together, even though they aren't. the others knew they just like to flirt and play with each other, and that nothing was really going on.

it was different for jj and maya, though. they flirted, they occasionally shared a kiss, and even took the other's virginity.. but they'd never tell the others the last two. pogues can't mack on other pogues, as kei says. jj and maya didn't want to change the dynamic of their group, anyway, by ever making a real move on the other.

"that doesn't look good." maya said, walking out the door as jj got up.

"agatha did some work, huh?" jj said, coming out behind maya after grabbing a beer.

"yeah, she did." john b said.

jj burped and maya gave him a look, "ew."

"it's a basic human function, my." jj said, but maya only rolled her eyes before walking out in the yard over to the boat john b was pulling branches off of.

"whatcha' thinking?" she said.

"i'm thinking that storm surge pushed all the crabs out on the marsh maze." john b threw sticks out of the boat, "all those drums are gonna chase the crab."

"what about the dcs? wasn't that today?" jj asked.

"nah, they're not gettin' on a ferry." john b said, "come on, think about it. it's god telling us to fish."

maya looked over at jj at the same time he looked at her, them sharing a look before agreeing with john b.

"come on, let me show you a party trick!" jj said, now obviously more intoxicated than earlier. "pope, can you go a little faster?"

"oh god, here we go, i'm moving." john b said, moving behind pope.

"we've tried this like 6,000 times." pope said.
