3.2 Trust and Feelings

Silence filled the air as everyone listened to Yuri's words. Surprise was visible on Kaeun's face as someone knew who she was.

"H-huh? Yuri Do you know her?" Chaeyeon asked, breaking the silence.

"No. But I know who she is" The blonde replied before continuing "Lee Kaeun. A skilled frontline soldier. Cause of death : War"

Gasps and looks of shock spreaded like wildfire across the girls' faces.

"D-d-death?"

"Yes..... She's like all the other undead. However, she was the only successful test subject."

Kaeun's face fell as she heard everything Yuri said.

"H-how do you know everything about me? Just who are you?!" Gaeun yelled, slowly losing her cool as her previous composed self disappeared.

Without a word, Yuri took out the black file with data about the operation from her bag and lifted it in front of her.

"This. And to answer your second question" Yuri paused before chuckling a bit with a menacing smile "We're just your typical high school girls"

"W-w-wha- Where did you-"

"We got it from Kang Jiwook" Yuri cut her off gesturing Kaeun to look at Hyewon "And that's his granddaughter"

Kaeun was speechless as she could not believe that she was actually aiming to kill Jiwook's relative.

"Also...." Yuri continued as she pointed at Chaewon "That's Kim Hajoon's daughter."

The soldier's eyes widen in shock when she registered everything she heard. Slowly she dropped the sword she held onto the ground.

"From the looks of it... You seem to be familiar with both Jiwook-ajusshi and Hajoon-ajusshi"

A few moments passed by as Kaeun remained frozen in her place. Suddenly, to their surprise, she made a deep bow towards the girls.

"My deepest apologies" Kaeun said with sincerity "I thought you all were the government's military agents here to get information regarding the Operation".

She lifted her head and walked towards the cabin.

"Please come inside.... Your wounds need to be treated".

Although confused at the sudden change in attitude, the girls followed her as Yujin's and Minju's wounds were quite critical.

The insides of the cabin wasn't as bad as it looked outside. There was a dark green sofa with a carpet underneath it at one side while a mahogany dinning table was placed in the middle. At the back, there was a smaller room with a one-person bed although Kaeun didn't need to sleep as she was already dead.

"Here" Kaeun tossed them a few first-aid kits "To treat their wounds".

"O-okay" Nako caught them although she was hesistant.

"Also, you all should get some sleep. There're dark circles under your eyes"

The girls didn't say anything but stare at her in suspicion. They found it weird as the woman was suddenly being nice to them.

"How do we know that you won't do anything to us while we're asleep" Sakura spoke her thoughts.

"Actually, Kura-unnie" Yuri said "We can trust her".

"But-"

"Trust me" Yuri claimed with determination.

Tension rose as the air thickens inside the wooden cabin. That was until someone let out a loud yawn.
