-Michael's point of view-
I had never been kissed by a boy before. Screw that, I had never been kissed by anyone before. So when Luke broke that, I was more than a little shocked.
At first we layed there with our lips pressed against each other's for a few long seconds, me being unaware of what was really going on. So finally I wriggled uncomfortably and pulled Luke off. My mind was going a mile a minute, yet I could do nothing but stare at the blonde infront of me.
"Please explain what..." I looked down, still lost for words, "just happened."
Luke scratched his head awkwardly, then pulled himself off of my stomach. He went as far away from me as possible with the handcuffs on. "Erm, I don't know. I wasn't exactly thinking," He continued to stutter, but I could tell that he was still on a high from the kiss.
"Well I'll tell you what you just did! You stole my first kiss, my first. I don't even like you, Luke!" I spoke louder as I raised my fists up in the air to show annoyance, and of course Luke's hands followed mine due to the handcuffs.
"Your first?" The younger boy turned towards me and raised his eyebrow, a smirk playing at his lips. "One of the most popular boys in school hadn't been kissed by anyone yet?"
Shoving Luke's arm with my non-handcuffed one, I shot him a glare. "Shut up. I'm mad at you, it was out of the blue and I didn't even enjoy it. I didn't realise how sick of being stuck to you I was until now."
I began to stand up, ready to leave to wherever Luke's mechanic friend was located. Maybe I wasn't as sick of Luke as I made it out to be, but I knew that I wanted my own personal space back.
**
It took an hour to reach the mechanic's house. That meant an hour of replaying the short kiss in my mind and the scene that unravelled afterwards. To make it worse, I was stuck next to the person I couldn't stop thinking about.
We walked in an awkward silence; the two of us mentally refusing to initiate conversation. But even if we did, it would still be awkward. It felt nearly impossible to forget about the events earlier that day.
"His name is Ashton, by the way." Luke finally spoke.
"Who's?"
"The mechanic?" Luke sounded slightly peeved. I couldn't tell if he was angry that I had nothing to say about his action, or he wanted to paper over the cracks of his awkward mistake.
We approached an average looking house. It was in our town, but considering the long walk and the pure fact that I didn't recognise anything in the area, I had not been here before. Instead of knocking on the front door, Luke pulled me towards the back of the house and towards the garage. The closer we got to the door the louder the music playing from inside was evident to my ears. At least the guy had a good music taste, from the sounds of it.
Without saying a word, Luke knocked on the garage door with his handcuffed hand and pulled my own with him. I shoved my hand back down to my waist, stopping Luke mid-knock. I was sick of my hand always unwillingly being moved. "Ashton, it's Luke." Luke shouted over the music playing.
The person inside turned the music off. The sudden silence feeling strange. The handle on the door wobbled, and eventually the door opened to reveal a boy around my age, if slightly older. "Luke! Man, I've missed you." The two boys pulled each other into a hug, and since Luke wrapped his arms around Ashton, I was pulled into the hug too.
"I missed you too." Luke said, obviously forgetting about my existence. Or trying to.
Coughing, I tugged the handcuff in attempt to get Luke's attention. "Hello?"
Luke and Ashton pulled away from each other, not before Ashton getting tangled between the handcuffs, and turned to look at me. "Right. This is Michael, as you can tell we're handcuffed together. Could you please unattatch us?" Luke rushed. It was difficult to tell whether he wanted the handcuffs off in view of his sudden mood towards me. Either that, or he was still upset at how I rejected his kiss. And it was most likely the latter.
Ashton stopped to observe Luke and me for a moment. He analysed the handcuff, probably doing a mechanic-thing in his mind. This gave me time to look at the boy: he had long golden floppy hair that looked unbrushed, and looked like a typical mechanic wearing a dark blue jumpsuit with tools in his pockets and what looked like black soot all over his face and hands. "I can use a hacksaw to cut it in half for you."
I fist-pumped the air, bringing a miserable looking Luke's hand with me. "Thank you-"
"No, before you say that," Ashton interrupted me, "it's a little dangerous. So don't sue me if your fingers get chopped off." Ashton turned around and began to gather his equipment.
"Excuse me?" I said, fearful of my fingers.
Ashton burst out in laughter. "I'm joking." Even though only minutes into meeting this guy he was starting to annoy me, my face softened. "If you guys wear gloves you should be fine."
My breath hitched. I didn't know what I was fearful of most; missing Luke after this or the possibility of losing my precious fingers. "You do have gloves, right?" Luke asked, hesitantly walking closer to Ashton and dragging me with him.
The mechanic scoffed. "What kind of pracisting oil changer do you take me for? You can trust me." Ashton beckoned us over then grabbed the handcuff between us. He then placed our hands onto his wooden work desk and grabbed his large hacksaw. "Okay, put the gloves on and then move your hands back into that position." He said. Luke and I did as told, taking the two pairs of gloves handed to us and put them on, then placing our shaking hands back onto the table.
"I'm scared," Luke said, finally showing emotion other than fake anger towards me.
Taking the plunge, with my other hand, I turned and grabbed Luke's and squeezed it. "It'll be over quickly." I said. The blonde looked up at me rather surprised.
"Three," Ashton raised the hacksaw into the air.
"I'm not scared of that. It's just-" Luke began.
"Two."
"I'm going to miss being stuck to you." Luke frowned at his words.
"One."
Without a second's thought, and just in time, I tugged my hand as far away from the table as possible. Ashton's hacksaw striked the wood, making a loud thumping noise. After all of that, the handcuff between Luke and me was still safe and strong as ever. I looked down, surprised at what I did. "I think I'd miss you too."
Luke looked at me quizically. He opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by a confused Ashton. "Are you trying to waste my time?"
"No! No, I just didn't realise what I wanted until now." I said.
"What is it, then?" Luke asked. He took one step closer to me.
"I want to watch the stars with you for one more night."

You don't realise how much I had to research into hacksaws and mechanics for this chapter.
