Officer Daniel Ramirez:

I had arrived in Arizona yesterday around 6pm. It was a long and tiresome drive, so I postponed the Antique until now. I currently sat in the car across the street. I was beyond paranoid I'd see Daxton, and that wasn't someone I wanted another run in with. Just like anyone else, I don't like getting my ass beat.

*Ding*

Landan J:     How's it going? Did you get there okay? You never texted me last night.

Don't tell me you're somewhere dead in a ditch.

Oh god, don't tell me you wrecked my car!

"My god he's annoying!" I exasperated, reaching into my bag for a change of clothes. As well as to put some shoes on. I drove the whole time in my slippers, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. I didn't care though, there are worse things to be worried about right now. 'Morgan being one of them..'.

Me: chill out Landan. Yes I made it.

No I didn't wreck.

Ttyl. Doing business now.

I put my phone away, changing out of my white wifebeater. I slip on a black button down, wincing slightly at the pain in my ribs. 'Oh god, putting pants on is gonna be worse' I smacked my head against the headrest. I should've gotten dressed before I left, why am I so irrational. I very slowly and carefully skip my legs out of my plaid pajama bottoms. I silently thanked Landan for getting such a dark window tint.

Landan J: Okay groovy!

Wait

WHAT BUSINESS? pls don't get yourself killed already!

"Ha! What a nerd" I chuckle, putting on my jeans. After what felt like hours, I was finally dressed. Finishing putting on my shoes, I ran a hand through my hair.

"Show time" I smiled at my slightly healed reflection. At least my nose wasn't swollen or my eyes. My bruises are slightly fading, though it's still blatantly obvious I was beat up. I exit the Honda, putting my phone on silent and locking the doors. I hastily jaywalk across the small road. 'I'm breaking all the rules today' I shook my head at myself.

"Hello! Welcome in!" I'm cheerfully greeted by a small brunette. I turn to look at her, watching her smile slightly fade. I nod, continuing to walk straight towards the cashier. 'Oh god, I should slow down. They'll think I'm robbing the place'.

"Hello!" I greet the small blonde sitting at the cashier. She hesitantly smiles back.

"What can I help you with?"

"I was just wondering if you guys have security cameras? Outside" I asked. 'That wasn't really subtle'.

"May I ask why you're asking?" She retorts, giving me a side eye as she looks at her coworker.

"Pardon my rudeness! I'm officer Daniel Ramirez! I work with Lapd, so I'm unfamiliar with the area. I'm looking into a suspect who was last seen in the area" I confidently state, outstretching my hand for her to shake. She timidly shakes it.

"I'm Dolly. Yes, we have three outdoor cameras, would you like me to show you the surveillance room?" Her timidness suddenly out the window, its replacement a suggestive tone.

"If you would be so kind!" I smile, nodding my head. She walks around the register, grabbing my arm.

"This way. Darlene! Watch the register!" She says, slightly tugging my arm. I cringe at her close contact, trying to distance myself. 'How old even is this chick to be flirting with me?'. I grimaced at the mere thought of her being a minor.
