You were raised

that asking for help

wincing in pain

acknowledging just an ounce of struggle

made you weak

made you less than who you are

You grew up

hiding the aches

underneath blankets

crying into your hands sitting in the tub

as the hot water poured over you

so no sound of your weakness

would leak

as you continued to drown

You learned

what screamed inside of you

wasn't alone and it needed to be released

to help those whose voice stays silent

to save you

in regards to have happy days

with someone you love

and care for

more than the routine of pain.
