Things didn't really go as I had expected I thought that I would have stood my ground and tell him, no but I couldn't and I feel ashamed. When Maria and I left the courtroom I offered to take her on a dinner to celebrate her win which she, of course, agreed to.
"Eliza I would just like to say thank you for everything you have done for me," Maria explained whilst she cried
"The fact you even listened to my story amazed me but then when you mentioned getting me a lawyer I felt as if I was in a dream to be completely honest with you" as she said this I started to tear up
"What that man did to you no person deserves that Maria. If you need anything Maria just call me I'll help you I promise you" I told her
"But Eliza why would you help me," Maria asked
"Because one of my friends I met in college had told me her story and I just hated the fact that that happened to her and I couldn't help her"I explained
Suddenly I felt Maria give me a hug and I couldn't help but hug her back this must be such a good day for her. And I'm so happy that I am part of the reason why she and her daughter didn't have to go through any more pain.
After a few drinks and a lovely dinner, I dropped Maria off as I had to go home. As soon as I reached home I heard tiny footsteps running down the stairs.
"Hello mummy," Philip giggled
"Hello to my favourite person in the world," I said whilst carrying him up
"Why were yew not at schoowl today Mummy," Phillip asked
"I wasn't there because mummy had to go help her friend" I replied
"I missed yew" Philip said
"I missed you more" I say whilst giving him a massive hug
Angelica then walked in.
"So Eliza how did it go did she win her case," Angelica queried
"Yes she did and you'll never guess what happened after," I tell
"Well you seem quite happy but also quite frustrated" she replied
"You saw Alexander didn't you" Angelica sighed
I felt my face heat up.
"Yep and he asked me to catch up over some drinks and I said yes and now I feel stupid" I whimpered
"You aren't stupid Eliza cause I would have probably done the same thing," Angelina explained as she tried to console me
"But how am I supposed to tell him about Philip," I asked
"I'm not sure that's up to you to decide Eliza," Angelica said
"okay"
"I've got to go now I'll call you later," Angelica said whilst leaving
"Angie"
"Yes Eliza"
"Thank you for taking care of Philip we really appreciate you for that," I explained
"Don't be stupid this is nothing and what is better then spending time with my nephew" she laughed
"Bye Aunt Angie" Philip yelled
"Bye Pip"
