Today is the day that I am going to meet with Alexander. I am nervous I don't know how it's all going to pan out. I don't even know what time he's going to arrive he could be at the door right now. I finally decide to get out of bed and brush my teeth and find what outfit I will wear later.
Philip walks in the room looking quite troubled.
"Hey Pip what's wrong," I inquire
"I wish I had a daddy like Theo," Philip mumbles whilst looking on the floor
"You have a daddy just like Theo Pip but he's just not here but you will meet him okay," I explained and because of the conversation right here I have decided that I'm going to have to tell Alexander about his child.
"Thank yew mummy that will be the best pwesent ever," he says whilst hugging me
I go up and get dressed just Incase he comes early.
After a few hours, I heard some knocking on the door.
As I open the door I see Alexander right in front of me with flowers.
"Hey Betsey are you ready," he says
"Mummy" Philip yells
"Oh you have a child," Alexander asked
"Umm yeah his name is Philip can we wait for Peggy to come before we go " I stammered
Alexander nodded but his face had a surprise expression on it.
"Hello do you know my daddy" Philip asked
"I'm sorry no I don't"
"Philip why don't you go upstairs whilst you wait for auntie Peggy to come okay baby" I whispered
"Okay mummy bye mummies frwend" He shouted whilst running up the stairs
"Bless him how old is he," Alexander asked in a calm but disappointed tone
"He just turned 5 two days ago" I replied
"Oh well I'm happy for you and his father he's very cute" he let out
Then the doorbell began to ring
"I'm gonna go open the door," I say before speeding to open the door
"Hey Eliza has he arrived yet," Peggy asked excitedly
"Shush he's already here and I haven't told him yet I wanna tell him but I'm scared" I let out
"Go on your date and if you feel ready to tell him if not then don't" Peggy answered
"Pip auntie Peggy is here come down"
"Bye Peggy bye pip love you"
"Love you too" they both replied
I finally got inside Alexander's car and I felt so excited but I felt as if him seeing Philip has caused a problem. I'm scared. After all, I feel as if he thinks that I had a rebound after he left or maybe was cheating on him because I was 4 months pregnant when he left.
"Alexander"
"Yes, Eliza?" He questioned
"What's wrong cause Alex even since we met you called me Betsey so why do you feel the need to call me Eliza," I asked frustratedly
"I'm fine I'm just shocked that you have a child that's all and also the fact he's 5 that means you had him the year I left right"
"Yeah 2015"
"Well as I said before I'm happy for you but I would of at least liked to know you had a child you know"
"I mean how could of I have contacted you. You changed your number. I had no way of contacting you. And you had my number you could have called me but you didn't." I cried out
"Let's just go and enjoy the day okay cause I've missed you and I just want to spend time with you. The time we lost cause I left."
"Okay" I sighed
We ended having a really lovely dinner and I appreciated it. It was just like the old moments he had told me all about his accomplishments and I talked about my struggle as a single mother. However, I still haven't told him how he is the father of our son I just feel like he will hate me as he missed most of Philips childhood.
