SIRIUS WAS GONE. HE HAD LEFT IN the middle of the day after a nasty argument with Walburga.

Cassiopeia was happy that her brother was able to escape to the Potter's house. Although she couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness knowing that she wouldn't see him again until school started back up.

Cassiopeia knew she could always leave. She was nearly eighteen, she had money. She could live wherever she wanted. But Cassiopeia couldn't bring herself to leave Regulus alone with her wretched parents.

While Regulus was the Black's prized child now, being a Slytherin Prefect, it didn't mean that Walburga and Orion wouldn't hurt him. And when they're angry, they'll lash out at anybody. Cassiopeia knew that well considering the position she was in.

She knew it was stupid to talk back to her parents, yet she did it anyway because she was tired of listening to their bullshit.

Regulus timidly stuck his head into his older sisters room. "Are you okay, Cassie?"

Cassiopeia was on her bed, turned over on her stomach taking shallow breaths. "Yeah, Reg. I'll be fine." She whimpered

Regulus sighed as he entered his sisters room. He gingerly sat on the edge of her bed, any sudden movement would cause the seventeen year old pain.

"Let me see how bad it is, Cassie." He murmured. He pulled down the sheets to reveal Cassiopeia's scarred back. He growled at the sight. Regulus was furious at their parents for whipping his sister. "I need to clean that up or it'll get infected."

Cassiopeia nodded. She wasn't used to being taken care of, she was always the one to help her brothers. Seeing Cassiopeia in such a vulnerable state made Regulus sad. He wished Cassiopeia would have gone with Sirius when he offered.

Of course, the stubborn girl refused, stating that she needed to make sure Regulus would be okay in the house of horrors.

Regulus gently dabbed a towel soaked in rubbing alcohol over Cassiopeia's back. She hissed in pain, squirming as he did so. "I'm sorry, Cassie. I know it hurts, just bear with me."

Once Regulus had cleaned her back, he wrapped bandages around her torso with the help of Cassiopeia. The girl propped herself up with some effort. "Thanks for taking care of me, Reggie." She said, ruffling his hair.

"Well, consider this a repayment for basically raising me and Sirius." He grinned.

"Damn," Cassiopeia snapped her fingers. "I was hoping to get something cool. . . like a unicorn or some shit." She laughed.

"Keep dreaming." Regulus snorted. He watched as Cassiopeia winced as she repositioned herself. "I'm so sorry they did this, Cassie. I - I never thought. . ."

"Reg, it's okay. I'll be okay. You don't need to worry about me, it's supposed to be the other way around, remember?" Cassiopeia rested a hand on her little brothers shoulder.
