-Strength grows in the moments when you think you can't go on but you keep going anyway.

"RUN!" Anakin screamed at his troops, a disaster! All walkers were destroyed, almost half of his troops were either dead or severely injured, as much as he hated to say it, and he really really hated to say it, they had to retreat, they must've jammed their comms because he couldn't reach Kenobi.

What was he to do?

Run. That's all he could think of doing. He and his men dove through the sloppy mud, he stopped and waved them on.

The droids were still coming.

Don't these things ever stop???

No, no they do not.

Ahsoka blocked a well aimed blast that was meant for her chest, and redirected it to blow a droid's head clean off.

She gritted her teeth and gripped her saber tighter, through the stinging haze of smoke watched the onslaught of droids grow.

No one was coming to save them.

Not Master Kenobi.

Not Master Koon.

No one.

She blocked another blast, putting her foot back to catch herself and instead tripped on a root.

BAM!

Her head hit the ground and she lay, sprawled in the goopy mud, unconscious.

Rex saw Ahsoka hit the ground, He saw her splash in the wet dirt, and he watched her remain on the ground.

NO. no no no noooo.

He started towards her then BABOOM. Another bomb exploded, and he was flung through the air and landed with a large squish.

"Eurgh," Rex groaned, the trees were bouncing up and down, in reality, he was.

He was strung across the shoulder of one of his brothers like a pack.

The clone must've felt him stirring for he reached a hand out and patted his boot.

"It's ok sir, I'll put ya down soon, we just need to put some space between us and them droids."

Jesse?

"Whaa??" Rex groaned again, then he remembered everything. "Where's Ahsoka?" He panicked, squirming in Jesse's grasp.

"Sir- Ah!- Lemme- no!-I can expl- ergh!" Jesse struggled, finally putting his Captain down, Rex stumbled a bit before letting Jesse take his arm over his shoulder. Jesse let out a little sigh, "She's fine, Kix said she got hit in the head pretty good, got knocked out longer than you, she's being carried by one us," he looked down, "leaving the stretchers for the ones in worse condition."

Rex nodded, limping beside his brother, finally his head was no longer doing somersaults and he was able to walk on his own.

"What did we lose?"

"Ah, two of the walkers, too many men."

Rex felt the familiar pang of grief, his brothers! He shook it off, his throat tightening, he let out a shaky breath, stay strong.

"Where's the General?"

"Up ahead, I think."

He jogged through the straggling line of troopers, once thick with powerful brothers, now thinned to a weary few.

In the front he saw the brown waterfall of hair from General, he hurried forward.

He passed men on stretchers, brothers with armour that was once white and blue, to blue and red, he saw men who had been bold- turn to stumbling ash covered soldiers- he shook his head and carried on.

As soon as he had reached Anakin he noticed the young jedi had stopped and was looking around, like a prey animal sensing a predator, Rex walked forward, but the General put a hand out, crouching down close to the ground. Rex immediately followed suit.

The bushes in front of them trembled, water droplets splattered everywhere.

A hand came out, Rex scowled and placed a gloved hand on his holster.
