Rex narrowed his eyes and looked around, the forest had an eerie hush over it.

The creaking stopped.

Then droids, everywhere, burst out. Flooding into the small clearing.

How do they always know?!

"They must've followed us!" Anakin yelled as if he had read his mind, lighting his saber, he leaped towards the back with Ahsoka on his tail to protect the last walker.

Rex started to follow when he heard a shriek, he turned to look at the woman-civilian who was with them.

She was surrounded by droids, with nothing but a large wooden staff to protect her she stood no chance. But she did fight, she crashed her stick around the legs of one droid, making it tumble, Rex was impressed, but then she stupidly turned her back on a large gray one to bash the head of a smaller one, splintering her staff to pieces. The large droid put its arms around her and held her in place while more droids started to corner her, blasters raised.

Rex bolted over to help, yelling something unmistakably Mando'a he landed on a droid, blasting off its head then turning to another one doing the same.

He assessed the situation, six droids to take on his own, not counting the one that held the girl.

He dashed over quickly-his feet a blur-before the droids knew what happened he made easy work of two, and blasted another before coming at the last three.

Two big ones, one little.

He launched at the one who was about to shoot the lady, grappling his arms around it and tousled on the ground with it, he heard a gun cocking and quickly dodged out of the way, letting the droid shoot its own.

He came at the large oval shaped one, it's arm-gun raised, it fired, Rex dodged, it missed his chest, but grazed his ribs, he stumbled sorely to the ground, pain blinding him, he heard the gun whining.

Was this how he would end? Protecting a civilian? He smiled, so be it. A good way to die.
